Spending 24hrs in NEWCASTLE with only £50 - Did I run out of Money?

In this video I visit the northern British city of Newcastle Upon Tyne for 24 hours with only a £50 budget for a British holiday/vacation/city break in a challenge to see what you can see and do with a limited amount of money and time. What tourist attractions and events can you do and visit? Newcastle weather permitting I explore the city and even get to hear the Newcastle accent spoken in its native environment!
The most famous landmark in Newcastle is the Tyne Bridge so I paid it a visit to see what it was like to see it in person. I had a look around the Discovery museum to learn a bit about Newcastle's history, I indulged in a bit of art by checking out the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art before crossing another famous bridge in Newcastle, the Millennium Bridge. I have a look round Newcastle Cathedral and admire the gothic architecture and visit Newcastle Castle which dates back to medieval times.
Did I also get a chance to visit Newcastle Airport, Newcastle University or get to drink Newcastle Brown Ale? Find out in this video.
I try out a few local restaurants for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner including Quay Ingredient Coffee House for a delicious Eggs Benedict, Albufeira cafe for a taste of Portugal and Rasika Indian Restaurant for a great curry, naan bread and kebabs. All great food places to visit!
Find out what my stay was like at the Sleeperz Hotel Newcastle also!
Hope you enjoy the video, leave a comment on what you think and if there are any other places I should try with a budget.
If you did like the video please click on the thumbs up icon to let me know.
I’ll be making more food videos from around the UK and hopefully other countries too so if you want to come along on the journey, click on the SUBSCRIBE button and we’ll see where this takes us!

Welcome to my home city, the bridge with a tunnel is actually a road bridge with a rail line above, its called the High level bridge and in the 1971 movie Get Carter, Michael Caine ran across it, (in the Movie he met Margaret and called the bridge the iron bridge). Newcastle is hilly in parts but its quite a succinct city and fairly easy to walk around and across. The blue bridge is the Metro bridge. The small red bridge is the swing bridge, it was built to swing to allow access up the Tyne during the Industrial revolution as battle ships were built further up the Tyne at the Armstrong Works. Apart from coal exportation, Newcastle has armaments, glass production and flour Mills as part of its industrial past. The Baltic gallery was actually a holding and production mill for the production of flour. Thanks for visiting the city and sharing your great video.

Your money could have went so much further... For a cheap alternative room, consider the gay sauna (No. 52) at the weekend. They have private sleep areas, open 24/7 on weekends and also have basic private rooms with enough facilities to provide what you need. No homo required. Yes, you could venture up to the other floors where the naughty things happen but the ground floor is the private rooms to rent, a cafe/bar, a Jacuzzi and shower area, a stream room and lockers. Half price return entry voucher for members (no fee or ID asked for). Prices start around £12 I think for entry from 11am through to the following day, weekend passes etc available. could be very handy for someone on a limited budget, stuck for somewhere to get some sleep, eat and freshen up. Especially if you just need somewhere for a few hours. As for things to see and do, there's other free museums and art galleries, plenty of parks, the metro and bus system can get you to the sea side in 30 minutes, there's the obvious shopping malls on both sides of the river (you didn't mention Gateshead at all), you nearly went through China Town (little as it is) and missed being next to part of the Roman Wall at one point. Then you also missed all the nightlife, there's so much more than rather pretentious food in a working class City or town to explore, including the thing you seemed to miss altogether - the people. You should try this again with a total budget of £50 - it should be very easy, maybe you just need a guide to true Geordie life D'ynahwitamenalikepet?
