Enjoy your adventure!! Travel is almost never as "romantic" as it looks in postcards!! While you're there you might enjoy watching the George Clooney movie The American.

It’s the experience I don’t need again lol. Calabria unfriendly, dirty, no cultural thinking at all.

I watched ur video on Tiktok and i think this is the video with hate comments that u talked about? Anyways ur emotions are calid of course, I just want to let u know that people don't stare at u bc they're judging u badly or things like that and they could also come off as rude bc of their accent, dialect and things like that, doesn't change the fact that u felt the way u did. Another's thing I want to say is that it should be considered normal to learn at least the basics of the language of the country ur moving to, u can't just expect people from a remote village to speak English just bc there's some tourists, I can understand if it were a big city like Rome, Florence or Milan but people in small villages often speak only dialect which is hard for some Italians too. I'm sorry u didn't feel welcome tho, hope things went better. Also one last thing, that thing that u see in the bathroom is a bidet, we usually wash ourselves there after we've used the toilet.

@@recolty thank you! In my TikTok video I have explained I have learnt Italian and I have used it but nobody seemed responsive to that very well. I have been basically talking only in Italian here. I’m not stupid coming here without learning Italian. They stare trust me and they stare and laugh and talk while staring at me. If that doesn’t mean they are making of me, then this is a really different culture because everywhere in the world it does mean that. So it’s very hard to just ignore that. I have tried 😀they have their culture, it’s totally fine.
