Instead of a cliché B&B in Italy, Linda and her husband had a different idea.

Welcome to another episode of ‪@realexpatslivinginitaly‬ 🇮🇹 where we uncover the authentic experiences of expats (foreigners) who call Italy 🇮🇹home.
In this episode, we sit down with an inspiring 🇺🇸 American woman who lives in the picturesque town of Orvieto, while successfully running a hostel (and another unusual business, watch to find out!) in the bustling city of Rome.
In my channel you discover the realities of expat life in Italy-beyond the romanticized visions-and get inspired by their story of how they built a lasting and thriving business in the heart of Rome.
Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and hit the notification bell 🛎️ for more true stories from Expats Living in Italy!
This video is not sponsored in any way, but to thank Linda for participating in my channel I'd like to link to her businesses:

I have two questions, on practical and the other is more a curiosity. 1) What is the monthly or yearly cost of the travel pass from Orvieto to Rome? What is it called? Is there a range from the Termini? 2) Did the Beehive move locations? In 2002 we stayed in facility at Via Daniele Manin, 58, 00185 Roma RM, Italy. I am confident it had Bee in the name.

Hi there - sorry it took so long for me to reply, but I don't receive notifications! To answer your questions: 1) the train pass between Orvieto to Rome depends on your income, you have to show your ISEE which is a document showing what your economic situation is like. I pay €117/month for unlimited regional train access between Orvieto and Rome. I prefer to travel by the Intercity train though and so I purchase something called Tutto Treno for an additional €230 for the year which allows me to take the Intercity train but you have to reserve seats on that train. 2) We moved locations in 2000 from Via Giovanni Lanza to our present location at Via Marghera. The apartment at Via Daniele Manin was a self-catering apartment that we managed. The rooms could be rented individually or the whole apartment to groups/families. Since we managed it, it was under our umbrella but not directly our place. There were two apartments like that but we no longer manage either of them.

@@thebeehiverome Thank you. We really enjoyed our stay with you. I'll never forget the young man warning us "This is not American coffee." I'm exploring living part time in a place like Orvieto. These train details are helpful for me building a budget.
