by the way, the "boosted luck" things on the bottom of the screen dont work for appraisal. high weight, shiny luck and sparkling luck. you need either shiny surge (shiny) or night of the luminous (sparkling) if you want boosted luck for appraising. i dont think theres one for size and i also dont think you can get it from sundial totems but i could be wrong about the totem thing

I know it may sound weird but I think bait is bugged. I have caught all my Nessies without bait, but when I used truffle worms, I never got a Nessie. Same with every other fish. When others are trying to catch the whale shark with shrimp, I caught it TWICE without any bait first. I used 150+ magnet bait to try to get emperor jellyfish and I never got it, but as soon as I don’t use bait, I lure one in. Idk if it’s a bug but people should stop using bait. By using bait, I think the game drastically increases the chances of luring every other fish in the area, but only slightly increasing mythicals, making them harder to catch.

It does feel that way yes, but let me tell you why: It’s because we see truffle worm being RARE and hard to get, so we EXPECT it to easily get the fishes who’s fave bait is truffle worm. Not to mention it has +300% luck. However! Since we have high expectations for it cuz it’s the rarest bait, then it will seem like it isn’t catching anything, even tho we think it should catch a lot, especially since u only have a few.

Idk if it’s a bug, but I haven’t used bait for a single mythical in the game and I’ve always caught them. I’ve caught all of my nessies without bait. While everyone was trying to catch whale sharks with shrimp, I was always the one who caught it because I didn’t use bait. I think using bait heightens the chances of luring every other fish in the area, which MAY lower the chances of catching the fish who “prefers” the bait. Just don’t use bait and you’ll end up getting more Nessies.
