good piece. Thanks for sharing your survey results on farmer's approval. We're sick of being "owned" by the government for pennies on a dollar...basically they throw us a few bread crumbs every now and then...meanwhile we have to get permission from them when we wanna cut a tree down on our land...and if WOTUS is approved, we'll have to get permission to piss on our own land.

Anyone else notice Congress can gallop when it's time to spend money to 'show they're concerned about their voters' but when it's past time to pass/update/explain legislation involving regulations to qualify for programs that SHOULD only be for US farmers they're nowhere to be found? The idea that South American sugar is used for SAF is insane. We just had an election based on smaller government to slash spending, and right after it, Biden and Congress are throwing money out the door, that we have to freakin' borrow. That too, is insane.

what about those who have switched from corn and beans to another crop?
@debi529223 сағат бұрын
If all those who plant corn on corn do the same and other switch to more corn, maybe a counter to that to keep your rotation and let others try and time the market. Soybean situation can change before next marketing season. Soy has little if any substitute whereas Corn can be subbed by Wheat. If soybean oil can be used for SAF fuel, beans might be not such a bad idea.

How will this help the American Farmer compete? Large farms always benefit more even if there is a cap. Small farm gets enough money for a few tractor tires or a repair. Also, farming is a business now. Taking risk and consolidation. Has been happening for 30 years. If you allow emotions and are sitting around watching a neighbor expand, you are not running your business correctly. Isn't a fellow farmer, close enough to rationally farm that land, your neighbor? Never placed a bid that I couldn't farm it for net profit not cash flow needs. And without Gov. payments. The cure for high land prices is for farmers to bid cash rents for net profit. These investors would soon sell for reasonable prices back to those who should own the land. The farmers and landowners who care for the land. This is not being naive. Just taking a stance for what corporate has done to the best way of life and the only way for any, any individual farmers to survive.
