I worked in an older warehouse and I was walking through a storage area and I heard footsteps running up behind me. I turned around really fast bc I thought someone was running to jump on my back, but there was no one there or even close to where I was. After that I still walked through that area waiting for something else to happen.

Just came across this video, but I’m pretty sure I convinced my parents to let me go there for Halloween. It’s like 2 hours away from me, but (as you probably know) there’s an escape blood prison event going on where you get to go through it like a haunted house, except this place is actually haunted. 22:15 they did that for prisoners escaping, so if they ran up that stairway they would run into a dead end and be cornered and caught by security.

My experience at the Ohio state reformatory: I went over the summer and I walked away from my brother and his friend to explore on my own. I walked into the solitary confinement cells. I looked into one and saw a full body apparition hanging from the ceiling. I wasn't scared suprisingly I just kinda stood there. Not much else happened but also it was during the day

oh i believe it! these are the stories i love! i went on my 18th birthday in the day time..walked around alone and heard a door slam shut and it rattled the room.. looked everywhere and nobody was there and no doors were even shut. The place is insane!!!

Sounds insane. Why would the young man hang himself in the reformatory? Only the most experienced would know I guess... But 50 years of staying in the prison would completely mess anyone mentally and possibly physically as well. So I think I understand why the kid did of what he did. One of the most scary and serious things I've ever read in this comment section so far.

I remember so much of that place that I guess that helped me stay out trouble from then on. Never got in trouble again. I also remember it got so cold one winter we had build a fire in the toilet to keep warm in our cell. There was hardly any water in the toilet. If it was it was frozen. Crazy!

I know more than 5 guys that did time in Mansfield. They said - no inmates were locked in the attic, not one !!! Do you really believe they would allow the worst of the worst to run around in that big, open, attic ? Not a chance. My one buddy said a guy got his throat cut in the barber shop and ran out into the center tundra were he fell and died. A nasty place to do a bit !

there was a fire at another prison and they transferred prisoners to mansfield reformatory and didn't have room so they made temporary rooms in the attic for them. this was back in the 30's or 40's i believe.

I lived in Mansfield ohio back in the 80s and I went to visit my brother at the old Mansfield reformatory I was attacked by a man and he was a ghost I was traumatized by that incident that I screamed running out of that reformatory I know that place is very evil and Haunted I can't go back to visit again it really scared the crap out of me.

literally the only thing(s) that happened to me there was that in the solitary part of the prison i heard breathing coming from inside a cell, the cell that you can clearly see from inside the showers i saw a white figure standing in the “doorway” of the cell. walking through the prison you can definitely feel erie vibes. in a room you can definitely smell cigar very strongly

Been there twice, once for the haunted house style tour for halloween, another time for paranormal adventures. Both times i was there, I felt very weird feelings. Even during some of the breaks in between sections during the haunted house Halloween event. I had a strong sense of all the violence that took place in those walls, smelt weird smells, almost had a blood and death smell. To this day, close to 4 years later, I still get flashbacks to some of the things I experienced at OSR. Thankfully, nothing followed me home! Creepy place, but not nearly as creepy as an abandoned asylum I went to in PA a year or 2 ago. Would much rather come back to OSR than that asylum!

a lot of people in these types of videos always say they feel an energy in the rooms they go into. I visited the prison this last october and I didn't feel anything. Yes I felt sympathy for all of the people that went through this place but i didnt feel like their presence was overbearing. Also, i went into supposedly the most haunted room in the prison (round room) completely oblivious to the history and just thought the chair was set up for a good picture. I didn't feel any type of heaviness what so ever whilst i visited. I absolutely adore being here.

I was there for a halloween thing in 2000 or 2001, and I believe that stairway led to a door that led you right into the prison. They must have walled it off for some reason ? It was just a wood door, like a old office door, I remember because we all thought it it was strange ?

I did the overnight last December or January. I got a nice EVP in the warden's quarters. I asked, "What's your name?" and I got a response that seemed to say "Edgar". I also got another EVP and some good flashlight response (if you believe in that). I may have seen a quick shadow disappear behind a wall, but those things happen so fast that it's hard to believe your eyes. I would say that this place is haunted from my experience. I would have loved to have had some more time there. Thanks for posting your experience!

TaylynRose oh wow! Yeah they gave me a tour first then let us loose. This was a special event and that’s why we were able to do this. But during the day you can take yours and sometimes you can just roam free. You are not allowed to film the new prison next door. They watch so don’t even try it. I have an LED light panel on the top of my camera I use. Hope you have fun!! Let me know how it is! 🤙🏼

While watching this video, I believe that I saw a small white orb floating between the corner and middle of my left eye. I'm not making this up. There's been no paranormal activity in the house ever since possibly 2015. So here's the story that my dad told me and my mom one time: "So it was quite late, almost midnight and you (addressing to me) were sound asleep. I just got out of the bathroom when I feel like something had walked through my body or something. I almost lost my balance for a minute there, but that's not the only time I've felt something really (f word) real. The other night, I was in the tub washing myself and I feel a sudden cold hand feeling behind my shoulders. The hair on the back of my neck was literally standing up. I could feel the hairs on my neck go 'going'!"

I have an answer for the battery dropping so fast! So I watched another video from the same place and one of the tour guides said that the spirits take energy from what they can when they can. So the spirits were most likely taking the energy from your camera.

no to be honest. i didn’t even realize how haunted it was. i was all alone waking down the cells alone and i was fine. the very top area where u walk into the jail cell area on the tour, was super hard to do because how high up it was. it was very interesting and super fun to go and walk through. i also would recommend the little phone thing that tells you what each area is about. very helpful👍
