It must be such a joy to go to a place where you can wear your dresses you've been working so hard on, and be with people who appreciate them! Not everyone gets a chance to say "Oh, my tiara is terribly askew" 😁 ❤️ ❤️

as much as i think these events are cool and fun for dressing up, i am often impressed by the men that dive in, fully involved in the dressing, dancing and other festivities. there is no way any of the men i have ever dated or been related to would have done this. i think this must be such a great activity for history loving couples.

Oh my goodness! It was so remarkable to see you and your gowns out in the world where they should be! I can’t pick a favorite! You looked so lovely in all of them! It was great to see your friends too. I just cracked up at you trying to crawl in the car with gloves and 20 yards of skirt! And that staircase with the suitcase!😳 I have to watch again, because it was so beautiful! And so nice to see you having so much fun!

Your dresses were beautiful and from what I saw overall, they were definitely the most well made and again, beautiful. Your roommates embroidery was amazing! I'm glad you showed us a close up as I didn't see it from a distance shot at all. The whole weekend looked like so much fun and I'm glad it was on again this year. I'm thinking it must be fun for the town as well, seeing all of the costumers showing up and walking all over town. So happy for you all.

Thank you for taking us!!! In that fitting setting you looked like you just stepped out of "The age of innocence" or "The buccaneers" (we don't have Gilded age here yet and these are kinda my touchstones for what frollicking in 1870's gowns looks like). I love the cat hat and I also love how you showed us incongruous bits like getting in the car!

Always enjoy Lady Rebecca videos, but this one took me back to my first career in living history. The dress worn at Fort Townsend was very similar to one I wore working at a historic fort. It looks a thousand times better on Rebecca! Always such amazing work and such a pleasure to see a lovely lady in her beautiful work.

My nephew and niece-in-law got married at Fort Worden, and we stayed in one of those lovely Commanders’ Houses. All we needed were some lovely ladies and gentlemen like you and your friends to set the period! (Oh, and some more electrical outlets. Those houses weren’t designed for a dozen people needing to charge their cell phones and camera batteries at the same time!) Your gowns and hats are glorious, and the fit and silhouette are so, so good.

Super jelly that you have events near you to wear your lovely garb. The fact that the festival included a contra dance is just epic; did the caller do walk-through's before each dance, or were the dances taught beforehand, or were they easy enough to follow without a walk-through?
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
She did little walk throughs first, but the ones that I was there for were quite easy -- like less than 10 different actions in the dance.

GAH! How did I miss this!!!! I was JUST up there a few weekends ago. gah!! Do people strictly focus on the end years of the Victorian era, or do people adventure into all of it? It would be so neat to see people dressed from the start of V's reign, all the way to the end, From spaniel curls and sloped shoulders, to frizzled beehives and gigantic badonkadonks.

Most people go for bustle through about 1900, because those were the boom years of the town, but my friend Kelsey wore 1840s, and I know at least one person who wore 1860s, so it varies.

Wonderful! What exactly happens at the Victorian Festival? Besides the fashion show and the dance are there other activities? Oh, and how does one pack crinolines in modern luggage? And how do you decide what to take to events? Obviously the Victorian Festival pretty much dictated Victorian fashion of some sort, but what about Costume College where pretty much anything goes. I'm trying to get an idea so I can prepare a few costumes for Costume College 2023 and not feel rushed, like I'm making things at the last minute and so I don't cause my luggage to be overweight.
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
There are also lectures going on all day, but we only went to one of those. For full on crinolines, I've heard of people successfully twisting theirs into a figure 8 -- the one year I wore a crinoline at CoCo was also the one year that a group of us drove down, so I have yet to fly with one. For Costume College, usually for me it's just the six costumes I've made that year, since that is generally how many I make. This year is going to be really hard to choose what to take though!
