Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.
Please make sure to stick with me so we can explore new exotic places together.
Let the adventure begins!
Thanks so much for your support.

What a tender moment... having lunch with your mother ... or talking to a elder about your tasks - that you looked for to do .. . I loved how Mom criticizes your cooking .... all our mothers do LOL. Thanks for sharing

I didn't know you were khmu Lao. Didnt realize theirs so many different ethnic people living in Laos. Sound so different from the Lao language, although i did hear some words are the Lao language...Your mom is so lovely. The little kids are so cute. My daughter will have so much fun there when we visit

Kop jai. Khmu language is the third most spoken language in Laos. And we adopted a lot of words from Lao language as well. Although there's only spoken language in Khmu no written. At school it is all taught in Lao language.

I miss my mom's and grandparent's cooking. I would just eat the rice, pumpkin stems, and pepper. Too much meat here in the US. Those rats are from the fields eating corn and rice so they are pesticide free

It feels home, isn't it to spend good quality time and share home cook meal with our family. Just love the simplicity that life in the village has to offer. I hope you come visit Laos sometimes.
