After testing these HCs; S tier - Penny - Do I even need to explain this? She hides her turret + it has a lot of health, and getting that control from cannonballs and fire is really strong. A tier - Ruffs - The potential of it is really strong, but I didn't play with it too much so can't really tell so far. A tier - 8-bit - This was the most surprising one for me. a) Stat boosts are insane for 8-bit, b) the turret actually has more health than a non-HC one, c) The accuracy of that turret is INSANE. It literally hits more than 90% of its shots at full turret area (boosted booster one). A/B tier - Stu - I was worried about cycling it, but you can easily get 2 of these per match, and it's really strong with gaso-heal. B tier - Darryl - auto-charging and super gain from the projectiles is really good, but it's quite underwhelming besides that. Still good enough to make him one of the best brawlers. Unranked - Otis - I have 2 observations about this one, with the 2nd one making it unfair to even judge its strength. a) The silence actually adds after stun, so you get 1.5s stun and 3s silence, not 1.5s stun and 1.5s silence. b) It's bugged as hell. The stun isn't even a stun, it stops you from moving and shooting, but for example, frank's, bibi's or Carl's abilities aren't interruped by the star for some reason, meaning that if a frank supers you and you throw the HC super to prevent him from stunning you, his super will just finish as if the HC was nothing and you'll die. Edit: Otis' HC also makes his attack shoot 3 projectiles per ammo, regardless of having a star power or not.

Nice comment! I only have enough gems to buy 2 hypers, so hearing other people's experience play-testinf them is really helpful. Btw, do you think the accuracy of 8bit's hypercharge turret is the same as Jessie's? And about Otis' long mute, I've heard conflicting information. I recorded the gameplay of supering the training cave sniper bot with and without hypercharge, and it seems to me that the duration is the same. For Otis' regular super, there's a short pause (0.5s-1s) between the enemy starting to be muted, and the damage ticking from the mute, and then, a 1s interval after each tick of damage. So when the game says his super lasts 3s, I think it's rounded down from ~3.5s. Because what I just described also applies for the hypercharged super (except that for half of that time, the brawler is also stunned). They are the exact same length in my recording software.

And if you've got gems for 2 HCs, I'd say go with penny or darryl since these 2 are gonna be the best brawlers out of these thanks to HCs, maybe ruffs if you're into that synergy play.

Otis hypercharge is bugged. His star power that gives extra projectile does not work while he is hypercharged, meaning he shoots 3 ammo instead of 4. Thats sad since it means while hyperchaged otis deals a bit less damage and only reason to use it for now is speed boost.

I wish they made some episodes about how these bugs happen, because they seem so random and unrelated to anything, but there must be something in the code. Like some episodes on how they fixed the crazy bugs that have happened in the past. Some programmers might even watch it and be able to help them out with future problems. Otis stun is good but its not creative at all. What if instead of stun, the starfish DRAINS the enemy’s ammo, supercharge, and hypercharge after the silence has worn off. Maybe -1 gadget as well for the hell of it idk (maybe too far lol). I mean to charge it so long and just have stun seems disappointing?

4:40 correct Spen, the shield boosts do not stack… they only apply the most recently used one (they don’t stack nor are they even multiplicative, it doesn’t even override with the highest value, just only applies the most recently used bubble.) So no, it won’t be good even with that, it’s better to use rolling reload with that HC.

10:08 I thought the same but there's a catch. You can grab a power-up only once. So the brawler that grabbed it cannot get another hypercharge untill he's dead 🙂. Same with ruffs and literally any brawler The best strategy would be with colette. Use hypercharge super -> die -> farm super -> grab hypercharge power-up -> use hypercharge super and continue the cycle

yea i agree with this, ive only had the stu one but i can say that you're not teamwiping with it due to the long animation of his super even without long dash and the high charge rate and short time, youll usually only get 1 and the best thing to do is heal up, or score if youre using long dash but you usually wont have enough time unless its overtime, definitely one of the more overrated ones, its a crazy idea but its not actually that good ingame

As an 8-Bit main I think his Hypercharge is good. It helps if you ever get dove on and short range brawlers can’t do much against you or the turret anyway. The stat boost is always welcome and I think it’s good if you throw it aggressively and teleport to it and start shooting

The HC is badly designed, dunno how you can say it's not when 8-Bit is a defensive brawler. The only time it's kinda useful is closeup, but most HCs can get value no matter what, so how is it good again?

@Sc5ch It gains a health buff, it has enough health to where you can use it like a Jessie turret, you can essentially use it as a secondary source of damage on the heist safe, a way to rush into players, and a good way to control.The damage on 8-Bits turret can be buffed but other than that it's a good HC.

the positive thing that i notice about 8-bit hypercharge is that the little projectiles charge your super and hypercharge pretty quickly. again, it charges pretty slowly and its only really good in open maps and 5v5

Otis hypercharge actually nerfs his main attack damage as he does get +25% damage but the hypercharge cancels out his star power so in hypercharge his main attack shoots 3 projectiles instead of 4 and does just under 200 lest damage if all hit

Penny hyper is so broken on heist. Just defend till you have hyper super, then put the hyper super within range of the heist and defend it for the whole game. I instantly lock her in on heist, gem grab and hot zone, unless there is a thrower

i dislike darryls one but the stats boost is good. 8 bits one i found does have some use. but you have to place the turret far back which just makes it harder for your teamates to take advantage of the extra damage (though the stats boost is crazy) stus one im unsure of. it just looks cool but doesnt seem to do a lot. but it will help him bully his counters. ruffs one is nice but got to be careful of bad randoms that are closer to their hypercharge than their super, since the treat doesnt charge your super. pennys one is good. and otis one is kinda toxic iwl.
