This is a wonderful video, slow and quiet, with just the sounds of running water, wind and crickets. Everything provided by nature: the rice, the gourd leaves, the bamboo shoots. It’s the sort of life many people dream of escaping to, but here it’s real life. Thank you for sharing

Everyone in the farm area seemed nice. Do they all lookout for eachother? How does land ownership work? Is it first come first serve and then you defend it? A beautiful but difficult way of life. Do the farmers enjoy it when all is said and done? What are the farmers biggest concerns there? Poor harvests? Medical issues? Do the farmers have some kind of local trade system where they exchange food/other things with eachother? Do these communities have some kind of local authority or how do they keep the peace? Sorry for so many questions ! Maybe it would give you some ideas for discussion points in future videos 👍🙏

Thanks for the questions. Yes, people in rural areas look out for each other. For example, today my family helping our neighbors in their field, and the next day, they come help us like that. Back then, the land ownership worked the way you described. The first come, first serve. Now it's more like renting it from someone else. Like in this case, my sister rented it from her neighbor. The payment was rice after the harvest, instead of cash. It is a hard life being a farmer, and I think they sometimes enjoy it. However, it's more like the way of survival because they don't have much choice. Their main concern is poor harvest and not having enough to feed the family until the next harvest. Way back then, farmers would exchange their produce with each other, for example, rice for chili or rice for chickens or pigs. But these days they sell the rice and take cash.
