I guess I'm fairly wary of revival instruments, but this Sperrhake has a nice sound. I prefer more traditional harpsichords, but this one is really interesting. I like the dog-leg on the 4' set jacks so that it is possible to play the 4' on the upper manual. The knee lever for the 4' is also pretty cool as well. Thanks for posting this video! I may have to reassess my revival instrument prejudices...

I wonder where this was recorded. I hear a Carolina Wren singing loudly (as they do) in the background between 2:50 and about 3:20. Leave it to a birder to hear that over the lovely instrument!

Porque después de cada demostración se escucha un canto de aves? Muy interesante demostración!

Hello John D. Chapman. I own a Sperrhake Passau. 5 pedal and two manual. I am missing some jacks and I need to know if at all can these jacks with plectras be obtained somewhere to replace inside my instrument. the harpsichord does have an excellent sound. I live in San Diego and I watched your video about the Sperrhake Passau. There must a Sperrhake out there somewhere that is being parted out. Could you please get back to me. Thank you.

Is it possible to restring one such instrument? I have found a used one online but it appears the pins and strings are mostly missing. Presume it would be hard to find original parts

Thank you. Very informative indeed. I love the nowadays banned not "authentic" harpsichords. Hell with historic autrhenticity. You can't sit on a chair of 4 hunderd years old. Lovely sound! (Elsbjeta Chojnacka plays Soler and modern composers with it if I am correct.)

Sorry to say this but that's a terrible instrument. It has very little monetary value as well. Ni body makes instruments like that any more
