Also, often if you interrupt something like this, the prey has already received really bad injuries that often get infected, and it dies anyway, but some house cat that is allowed outside may come across the body, and eat it, because it can...even though it doesn't have to. It may have also been trying to feed babies...and the more it is away from the nest, the more in danger the babies are. Also, a shortage of food can cause one baby to kill a weaker baby, so it can get all the food. Predators keep the populations under control. Let nature run its course. Want to feel good about saving an animal? Go to the local animal shelter and rescue a life.

it was presumably a difficult catch for the sparrow hawk, since the jay is almost the same size. The filmer shouldn't have interrupted. If you feel sorry for the jay then look at the damage jays do to singbirds. Unfortunately, the filmer's done more wrong than good

De vlaamse gaai is gewoon te groot en te sterk voor de sperwer. Een sperwer gaat normaal voor kleinere vogels zoals mussen, merels en spreeuwen. In het engels heet een sperwer ook een Sparrowhawk! Spreeuwenhavik.

dank je dat je ertussen kwam want ik zag vandaag hetzelfte gebeuren met een hele mooi bruine vogel waarschijnlijk een spreeuw ik arzelde niet en riep HEY hij loopt een beetje mank maar kan wel allebei klauwen gebruiken om zich vast te grijpen. Hij eet bewoon zaden en mag een tijdje bij komen en herstellen plus groei tussen mijn duiven tot hij goed kan vliegen.
