I went through this to finally hear about Officer level 2... dissapointed :D :D pretty please? I am using AP and all is good, but I am tempted to get something lighther, yet still able to get me through tournaments in longsword in one piece. I am thinking *Cadet or Officer II.*, but there are not enough reviews yet... and yes I do use chest protector (usually) and elbow+forearm guards, these are mandatory in tournaments here. and I think even if I will combine light jacket - like Cadet of Officer II. with additional plate on the shoulders and upper arms (like the pro plastics), it would still be notably lighter than AP with mandatory elbow+forearms guards.

For the gambeson pro jacket, how many layers of quilting does it have (i.e. how many layers of fabric)?

Would you consider the Cadet Jacket appropriate for longsword or sword and buckler? (My sword & buckler just arrived today, thanks for the fast shipping)

sword and buckler should be fine. for longsword, i'd still recommend a chest protector and usual elbow/forearm guards.
