I've never been in the house but the garden is well worth a day trip. My parents and I used to visit regularly from Birmingham in the late 60s/ early 70s, I remember the head gardener was a Mr Pomfrit. I made a nostalgic pilgrimage ten years ago, it had hardly changed at all.
