Spetsnaz FSB - Russian Special Forces (Спецназ ЦСН РФ Альфа)

The Alpha (Alfa) Group (also known as Spetsgruppa A) is an elite Russian dedicated counter-terrorism unit that belongs to the Spetsnaz (special-purpose forces) of the FSB (Federal Security Service), or more specifically the "A" Directorate of the FSB Special Operations Center (TsSN). The main objective of this special unit - the power operations to prevent acts of terrorism, hostage rescue, etc. In addition, the men of Alpha are attracted to other operations of the FSB special and high complexity, as well as acting in "hot spots", including Chechnya. Similar in essence anti-terror special forces exist in many countries, in particular, GSG9 - in Germany, SAS - in the UK and the Army's Delta force and Navy's SEAL Team Six - in the United States.

No, the gas they used was a fentanyl-based opioid. It was very potent and the people in the theatre suffered what was essentially heroin overdose. it wasnt poisoned gas it was knock out gas, which made people fall asleep, that operation was a sucsess in rescuing the hostages, but the ems did a poor job and laid out the sleeping hostages with no pillow to thier heads which causes your tongue to fall and cover your throat which resulted in many people sufficating

i was marine force recon and my brother is army 1st group SF. im not gonna sling mud at any body or any branch. personally, i would not mess with spetsnaz operators because they train at levels that our country would call "cruel", turn them guys loose on the enemy and god help - lol. but i was most impressed with british royal marines and french foreign legionnaires, trained with both and they are some bad mofos

Yes its true, Recruits come from former soviet republics mostly at the moment. They sign a five year contract and are eligible for Russian citizenship after 3 years service. However interest have been pouring in from Africa,South American and Asia too. Have to say,the Russians seem to reward Loyalty better then most countries. The Way we Brits treated the Gurkhas is a shame.
