In August 2014 Cork event promoters The Good Room ran eight concerts in the beautiful St. Luke's former church which was deconsecrated in 2003. The church had lain idle for over ten years when The Good Room (Ed O'Leary & Joe Kelly) approached Cork City Council about hosting a series of events to test the viability of using it as a concert venue. The initial series was a great success and the events project known as Live At St. Luke's was born and has gone from strength to strength over the years, now hosting up to fifty concerts and shows a year.
Of course like everywhere else the venue was closed due to the pandemic for the past few years but Live At St. Luke's returns this March with an all Irish line up and full capacity shows.
This short film takes a look at what the project means for artists, promoters, audiences and locals working and living in the area. With a very special performance to be filmed live from the venue on one of the first nights back in action.
Commissioned by and premiered as part of St. Patricks Festival 2022.
