Welcome to our beginner tutorial series on creating a Spherical Robot with Turret in Blender! In this Part 1 video, we'll guide you through the modeling process step-by-step. Respect that you keep it all default blender and no Booleans! Have you ever modeled an historical helmet with some cheek guards? I found it very tricky to achieve their shape and curvature, for the cheek guards that is. I'll provide a model from sketchfab as reference if you are interested in doing a video. It's a very beautiful helmet as well

7:57 I press shift B but it doesnt change anything is something wrong with the configuration? sorry now I see I need to do a little twister and press I and Shift B at the "same" time. And thanks for the video, I want to learn Blender because 3Ds Max is a little pain in the ass and I always want to learn Blender.

Subscribed. Very good explanation. I'll try make the robot similar to yours, but, I can't guarantee it 😅 PS: I'm using Blender 2.78c and I don't see how you can replicate the step you made at 8:00 - = shift + b while inset does not make any change in my case. I had to dissolve edges, but, I'm wondering if this is correct. Thank you.

I recommend to turn the subdivision off while you're in edit mode. I usually keep it on only when I'm in Object Mode.
