You need to remember that Jaeger have patches for specific instruments (violins, violas, cellos, basses), Metropolis Ark 1 only have high strings, low strings. So Jaeger is more flexible.

Cool Idea! I think Ark 1 has way more low-end, which needs space in the track. Could be a perfect Match but if you have a lot going on here, it could be too much. For me it depends on the Track. For an example like this, a layering of the low-end monster Ark 1 with the clear and precise high strings from Jaeger would be probably perfect. :-)

I love the Ark 1 spiccs for layering. My typical spiccato layers are HWS Diamond (layered a few short articulations together), Fluid Shorts 2, then Ark 1 for the punch/power

Ark sounds so much better in the first and last example. High strings is where samples usually start to sound synthy and weak. Which is exactly what happens with Jeager.

Jaegar, preferred it’s more defined tight sound. Ark 1 has too much reverb from the room for me, gives everything a slightly washed out sound.

Excellent comparison. I own both but I'm all about clarity and Jaeger is clearer, brighter and more in your face if that is what you are looking for. Ark one sound darker and missing high end sparkle to me so I use my Jeager,Areia and Nucleus.

ARK 1 has more low end and the Jaeger has more open strings. For darker thriller style productions, I would go for ARK1.

Metropolis sounds more Orchestral, or more in a room. For me it sounds better and more organic. Personally I would choose the Metropolis one.

I particularly like ARK in the very last example. For me, it is possible that Jaeger could be processed using Vari-mu saturation to give it a bit more aggression, and processed spatially to give a more exciting soundstage. I'm not sure if I need Ark or If I don't, it really depends on a case by case since they are both pretty excellent. (I own Jaeger)

Jaeger seems to have an overall greater "weight" than ARK, but ARK seems a bit better at preserving a separation of the individual instruments. Jaeger seems to leave very little frequency gaps, whereas ARK preserves a bit of "air" or "space" within the frequency range. I wouldn't consider one better than the other, just different but similar tools depending on what results you want. Not what I'd call an apples to oranges comparison, but maybe more like a Granny Smith to Honeycrisp apples comparison.

Jaeger: Clear, with perfect bite, and lots of air. Ark i: Poorly defined, washed out, muddy, very tight and airless. Jaeger all the way. If I had to compare their sounds using other examples, I would say that Jaeger is techno, with all its elements well defined. Ark 1 is reggaeton with its exaggerated amount of bass sound.
