Napoleon is right, snoop was the man untill TUPAC came to Deathrow. You can tell from snoops interviews that he downplays tupac, and then you listen to a NAS interview and he talks and gives more respect to Tupac then snoop does.. very strange...

Spice 1 is being very diplomatic right now. Very mature answer. We know there was some friction between Pac and Snoop. Snoops body language in the pictures in the first part of 1996 and the last part of 1996 before PAC’s death are totally different and speaks volumes.

Snoop wanted Pac at Death Row - but him and Pac were on different paths. However, he didn’t clearly assert to Pac (and Suge) that he wasn’t down with ridin. He was on stage laughing with Pac dissing Bad Boy (House of Blues). So he wasn’t as neutral as he makes it seem today. Even Dre wanted to produce “Hit Em Up”

It's unfortunate that Spice is kind of down playing Pac in these interviews, trying to stay in the good books with Dogg rather than say it how everyone saw it. Whether you like Pac or not, he slammed Snoop's side chick and surpassed him in record sales and popularity on the label. That would cause anybody to feel some kind of jealousy or animosity to know that someone is taking over your shit. Snoop had to settle for second place when 2pac joined Deathrow! Non of them matched his energy and urgency to get 3 or more songs done everyday. Snoop has said all of this in past interviews. Too many of you have short term memory and just agree with whatever the next man who gets interviewed says.
@TosereOjeme
@TosereOjeme Жыл бұрын
Snoop has said a lot of things in past interviews, including a lot of positive things. Animosity is a strong word to use. To be jealous is Human. There was no animosity, Pac was always a talker and Snoop was always shy, never talking much or facing the camera like he does today. Pac had to join Deathrow and stand besides Dogg to sell more records than Dogg remember that.

It’s easier to be nice to Snoop bc Snoop is still alive. Napoleon was 1000% right, and Pac DID take all the shine once he got to death row. That may have changed as time went on had he lived, but it was a fact. Their not being able to see Snoop hating doesn’t mean he wasn’t. Napoleon was there.

Tupac was the #1 selling Rapper in 1996 easily off "All Eyez On Me" selling 6 Million albums and having two #1 singles "California Love" (2 million singles) and "How Do U Want It" (2 million singles) That's 10 million records sold in 7 months from February 1996- September 1996 and y'all think Snoop wasn't jealous a lil bit of Tupac being Suge's #1 Rapper on Death Row 🤔And not to mention that "Hit Em Up" dropped June 1996 as the b side single of "How Do U Want It" and was the most talked about diss song in the streets...That summer of 96' was Tupac's😂Snoop was working on his second album "Tha Doggfather" and thought telling New York radio listeners that he had no problem with Biggie and Puffy can get him those sales to out sale Tupac,who just finished recording his next album "Killuminati The 7 Day Theory"😂which we all know badly outsold Snoop's "Tha Doggfather " by 3 or 4 million...But back to the lowkey hate,Snoop didn't have his own publishing or own label at Death Row but Tupac did😂 with Makaveli Records ...Tupac had what Snoop didn't have and that was the drive to push Death Row to a unseen level and that's why Suge gave Tupac his own label and Tupac changed his rap name from 2pac to Makaveli...Why y'all think Snoop switched up his stance on Biggie and Puffy 🤔 "Hit Em Up" had been out 3 months by now and Tupac was on to his new Makaveli album but Snoop needed to let NY know he ain't with Tupac and Suge on dissing Bad Boy😂 It's what someone who switches up on his team to join the other side would do out of jealousy

Let's be real. Back in the 1996 Snoop wasn't a mega star like he is today. Mostly only hip hop fans knew who Snoop was. He had one album out before Pacs death. It was a classic, but he wasn't a front figure like he is today. He was mostly in the background. And that's the role he also had when Pac came to Death Row 1995. Master P gave Snoop the shine back with 3 albums. And the rest was history.

Your comment is perhaps one of the dumbest we will find on this comment section..and given its filled with Tupac fanatic weirdos..that’s quite an accomplishment! First off, not only Hip Hop fans knew who Snoop was in 96! His first album was huge..so he crossed into pop! How old was you btw in 96? (I was 18) so remember that time period well! Now, this was only 3-4 years into Snoops career..so obviously you can’t compare him back then to now! He’s for example crossed into films today and has become a complete personality! But in 96 he was still one of the most well known artists in music overall…not just in hip hop!! Even Suge has publically spoken about telling Pac to respect the fact he was now part of a house (Death Row) that Snoop had built!! Now, Tupac would begin to surpass Snoop especially with the California Love song…which was huge and no doubt took both Pac and DR to another level..along with some of his other hits from AEOM…and we know in death how much bigger Pac would continue to grow! But to suggest Snoop wasn’t big in 95 and 96 is dumb!
@arnel925
@arnel925 Жыл бұрын
@@its_rick_james_bich2575 I didn’t say Snoop wasn’t BIG (he was BIG gangsta rapper in early 90's), there was a big hype around him because of his voice(rap/music) and the murder case. I was 16 in 96 and Snoop was BIG, but not world-known as Snoop is today. He was known as a G / Crip rapper, something new back then. He did two Classic albums Chronic and Doggystyle. In 94 he only did some songs on Above the Rim soundtrack and in 95 was only on the Dogg Pound and 2pac All Eyez on Me album. He was not the friendly Snoop every white man wanted to be around in 95-96, he was Snoop the crip the G. Had a murder case. So yea I think back then he was jealous of Pac and his fame when Pac came to Death Row and took all shine from Snoop. After Pac died, he came out with his second album The Doggfather and the album flopped big time. Master P saved his music career with the 3 album deal with No Limit and in 2001 Pharrell made him the SuperStar Uncle Snoop he is today. He went from G to a mega music star and singing love songs and the rest was history.

@@arnel925 Again, Snoop was one of the biggest music stars at that time..and not just seen as a crip gangster rapper!! Now, as I’ve pointed out already…obviously he wasn’t as huge then as he was today..but thats a nonsensical point as he was only a few years into his career! That’s like saying Puffy wasn’t as famous in 97 as he would become today…but he was still big in 97 and transcended hip hop into popular music! And the Dogfather was only considered a flop by Snoops standards given how record breaking his debut album was! It still went platinum..but lacked sound catching singles! Lastly, who are you state Snoop was jealous of Tupac? Snoop gave up the lead single to his second album to Pac!! That was a big song! But unless you was there, you can’t state what the personal dynamics were! It seems Snoop and Dogg Pound may have wanted off the label due to money issues..or maybe Snoop was just thankful of getting acquitted so didn’t want the drama of the east vs west so called beef! But again, saying he was jealous is just gossip and your opinion which isn’t based on anything real!
@arnel925
@arnel925 Жыл бұрын
@@its_rick_james_bich2575 Well, let’s be real, 2x platinum second album (The Doggfather), for the hype Snoop had back in the day, is a flop. Everybody has his own opinion. You have yours, I have mine. I was a big hip hop fan in the 90s, so I remember how it was. He was a big rap star and nothing wrong with being jealous of Pac in 95, cause Pac got all the hot records, shine and woman. Pac came to DR and released 2 albums in just one year. It took Snoop 4 years to release 2 albums on DR. And Snoop saying he wasn’t cool with Hit em up is some bull####. He never told Pac he wasn’t okay with the song. On amarikaz most wanted he even did a music video where they dissed Biggie and Puffy in the beginning. And he even dissed Biggie on the track “Keep It Real Dogg” - “Snoop is back, back like Return of The Jedi/ Ni**a don’t say sh*t, cause I/ Already said I, be on the red-eye/ Ya fat, ya Black, ya wack, yo’ style is tore up/ Plus he got one dead eye” Snoop just loves to lie. And nothing wrong with that, but that could be because of some sort of jealousy still.

@@arnel925 You clearly don’t remember how it was if you think Snoop was just known within hip hop circles as a crip gangster rapper! He was considered a pop icon at that point..anyone who sells the amount of albums he did just from his debut transcends hip hop and goes into poplar culture! That’s not an opinion..but fact! What is opinion, is your assertion Snoop was jealous of Tupac! Again how you know what the exact dynamics were between them? You say you were 13 at the time..which would make you 40 now! I’d question that!! You sound like someone who gets their information from KZbin interviews..as opposed to someone who was old enough to actually remember that period first hand for themselves!

Snoop’s impact on rap, hip-hop, pop, music, and culture in general is still fairly minuscule when compared to Tupac’s impact. That’s gotta hurt, Snoop! @@moe-cy3xp Snoop has said twice in two interviews that he confronted Pac privately about no longer being interested in the beef and Pac said and I quote, “Your murder case has turned you soft” Pac did not want to hear that. Reggie Wright Jr also unintentionally confirmed this by saying when Pac heard Snoop over the radio that he had love for Puffy and Biggie and wouldn’t mind doing songs with them, “Pac was heard shouting in the Limo saying, “ I’m a dead man, now they know we are not united”. That statement proves that the reason Pac was mad is because Snoop revealed how he felt Publicly not because he was blindsided. That was why Snoop was always quiet in interviews with Pac and Pac did all the talking.

@@TosereOjeme the first part idk how accurate that is, again it’s the usual snoop thing, he says something but in reality it’s something else similar to the Nas situation, how can he turn Pac making peace with Nas(which everyone confirmed)into something sinister, while he wasn’t even at that discussion when it happened , and on top of that he lies about Nas giving Pac a pass. Like even when Pac did something positive snoop flipped it and made it seem negative.What I’m trying to say he’s known for changing history. The second part like I said he b*tchd out, and that’s fine. Biggie instigated a shooting at their trailer, Biggie dissed DPG out of no where when they didn’t even had any prior beef. They came back and edited the video of them crushing the towers and started dissing biggie on record, and this was before hit ‘‘em up was released. Tupac took that as backing so Pac backed them also. Snoops excuse of having children and coming off the case is fine and mature, but he should of kept that same energy when he was beefing with suge years later and calling out xzibit for backing out to suge.
@TosereOjeme
@TosereOjeme Жыл бұрын
@@moe-cy3xp his probation was long over by then. Suge was real beef, it was business and Personal. The biggie beef was minor. I mean he kept the same energy when Tray Dee shot at his studio. But the fact he acted the same way in similar scenarios proves you wrong. Xhibit and Snoop had no beef, Snoop only called him out.
