Great reaction! I loved the scenes of Lawrence starting to realize how much he's actually grown close to Holo. They're both already dangerously close circling the "actually starting to fall in love for real" territory. I think the author did an outstanding job to make it feel very realistic.

A gutwrenching episode that gives you a rollercoaster of emotion. Spice and Wolf does a good job when it comes to character interactions and how they fit in the world. I feel like Holo knew she was going to end up getting captured by them when she said her plan. But, lied to Lawrence to give him confidence she wasn't going to. Also the fact they were holding hands most of the episode and then in that moment he just missed grabbing her hand again.

Well, she did tell Lawrence "Don't Worry, I am not easily caught" and then proceeded to leave him and get caught immediately. Given she's an immortal wolf god, no longer bound to the wheat fields of Pasloe, and seeking to travel back to her home, I feel like she would probably be hard to put anywhere that she does not wish to be. So either she's not as wise as she proclaims herself to be, or while Medio Trading thinks that Holo is trapped with them, she might see it as Medio Trading is actually trapped with her?

Weis is a pervy guy, but he's not a bad guy. He just is the kind of guy that will shoot his shot at any woman at any time. You'll find out soon enough who the hooded figure Holo recognized in the post credits scene is. But if you want a scavenger hunt the identify of that character has been hidden in plain sight in the opening credits all along. There are lots of characters we have, and have not yet met at this point in the opening credits though. But there is one blink and you'll miss it moment that is a spoiler directly as to who that hooded figure is in there somewhere

Basic explanation of what's going on with the silver coins Spoilers in the read more Basically, they want them because they need to be melted down to make more coins with less silver value so preventing that means they can use them to gain concessions from the government because they won't have the silver to be able to do that. (Not quite the exact plan but close enough of an explanation.

The one thing is that they were after Holo the entire time.

This is one of the very best episodes. It is an all time favorite of mine from the original anime and was also great in this new version. Though I do think in this case the original did explain the scheme better then they did here, and also the original actually showed us Holo's nightmare. I felt it hit harder when she broke down in front of Lawrence after seeing her fears and anxieties in her nightmare rather then just having her tell Lawrence the details. But she did say 'I always have the same dream' so I suppose they may still show it later in a future episode. But this episode so wonderfully juxtaposed the moments of pure honesty and budding feelings between Holo and Lawrence with the immediate drama of the massive plot they've stumbled into. It's such an eerie and uneasy feeling episode for a show like this but it makes you hope for Holo and Lawrence even more. All I know is that the title of the next episode: 'Wolf Incarnate and obedient lamb' sounds ominous and gives me 'F around with a wolf god and find out' vibes. Maybe Medio Trading thinks they've caught the wolf, but the wolf thinks she's caught her prey? I don't know, but I'm willing to bet 100 silver trenni that Holo will hold Lawrence to that promise of buying her a new comb for her tail at some point.

(Spoiler alert for those who haven't watched the original anime) Holo's nightmare isn't shown in episode 4 in the original anime either. I rewatched the first 6 episodes before the remake aired, and I just checked just now to make sure. I'm quite positive this is a season 2 thing.
