Spice Vet Visit and Getting Cleaning Done

Today we spent the morning with Spice in the vet's office. Even though he was showing no signs of not feeling well, he did in fact have a fever and was given medication immediately to bring it down. He was also diagnosed with a severe case of IBS and given a shot for that along with some medication that he needs to take every 12 hours for 7 days. After that, the vet checked for heartworms and he came out clear for that. His medication is now ordered for the entire year and will be here soon. When we got back, Spice was ready to eat, head outside for a break and back in for a long nap. He was totally stressed out. I let him sleep and kept an eye on him as I did laundry, some house cleaning and once the water was turned back on went on with the laundry and got most of it done. Today was a very productive day! I just gave him a kiss for you and he is already feeling better. I am still waiting for his heartworm medication to be delivered so his time outside has to be limited to reduce the chances of getting mosquito bites.

I keep a 2 1/2 water container with a spigot under my bathroom sink. For washing my hands. I have a Berkey and a water crock on a stand AND 16 gallons of back up water I can’t tell you how many times the water was shut off in the RV park. Sometimes when people are park trailers they hit the water spigot or like on my trailer sight, it was old and it broke underground.

You might want to do some research on “Greenies” because some dogs have experienced digestive issues after eating Greenies dental chews, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Greenies contain gluten, which has been linked to inflammatory bowel disease. Some dogs have also experienced pancreatitis after eating Greenies, which can cause stomach and bowel inflammation, bloating, and bloody poop. I am surprised your Veterinarian didn’t mention this to you. Regardless I wish nothing but the best for him and hope he returns to good health asap.

I’m sorry poor Spice is having problems. I hope he recovers quickly. Gosh, it’s hard to clean and get things done without water. I also keep water for outages and for convenience. It’s easier to fill the dogs’ water and to water my porch plants with my 3 ltr. bottles of water, rather than use my heavy glass pitcher, or lift and fill large containers in the sink and get them safely back to their spots. I am so glad that I was able to sleep very late today. I’d been feeling really bad the past few days, and I felt that if I could get more or enough sleep, it would really help. And it did. I’m feeling much better today. Less pain and not nauseous. Seeing you cleaning house, makes me want to clean mine, too. But since I slept so late, it’s almost time to start supper. Shepherd’s Pie tonight. But I think I am up to at least vacuum and maybe reorganize the refrigerator, first. 😊👍

Always remember not to use your hot water if your water goes out. Draining out your tank is very bad. If you do make sure to turn of the breaker to it. After the water is on refill your hot water tank because if you don't your chance of burning out the heating element is a expensive replacement and no insure will pay for something you did. My son in plumbing loves people with no head he make great money.

Once I realize the water is off I stop using all water in the house until it is back on. I then go throughout the house and release the pressure as you heard on the video. I am so careful with that.

Good evening Suzzie! Oh my goodness! Why does your water goes off frequently? I know my friend had her power go off frequently when she lived in Texas. Do they let you know when it is going to happen so you can plan around it?

There is always something wrong with a pipe somewhere in this neighborhood. They are old pipes and slowly as they bust they are repairing and replacing them. There is no warning since they wait until it busts to fix it.
