I planted the spice zee nectaplum last year in front of my house because of its foliage. It should fruit next year but sadly we won't be able to enjoy it as well as the othere 12 fruit trees we planted last year. We're fleeing California thanks to these restrictions but I will take my favorite emerald beaut plum I love the knowledge you give keep up the good work.

Hello from South Los Angeles! Where did you get your Spice Zee nectaplum? I've got a peach tree that I'd like to graft nectaplum scions onto. Thanks for your informative videos! I'm in the middle of the city, but I still use permaculture techniques and installed an edible/smokable garden in my front yard.

@@blackkennedy3966 I let some apricot seeds grow and the tree finally fruited first time last year. Fruit was delicious. They were seeds from my Blenheim apricot and Cotton Candy aprium, I believe a cross of the two because it's more like a blenheim but not completely.

@@gardentips1249 cool my seeds rotted last season and this season I forgot to harvest pollen so I’m just gonna grow the individual plants from seed instead of the hybrids like I planned Oh well. At least the nectaplum is already a hybrid by itself so I wonder what I’ll get from the spice zee.
@gardentips1249
@gardentips1249 Ай бұрын
@@blackkennedy3966 Still could be open pollinated by other trees nearby so could be a hybrid or self pollinated backcross. Either way I'm sure it'll grow some tasty fruit eventually. Can always graft a tree later as well

My Spice Zee is on the 2nd year in the ground but it is languishing for some reason. Leaves are half the size of yours and fruits were the size of golf balls. I had maybe a dozen golf balls. nectaplum?
@TheBusyGardener
@TheBusyGardener Жыл бұрын
YES! It's been intentionally cross pollinated between fruit in the same genus, and is has parentage from nectarine and plum. The process is doing what bees would naturally be doing in nature, but doing it in a systematic, controlled way. And it's GOOD!
