Not really, for they rioted major cities back in the 60s, and you had the LA riot in the 90s. In which at some point the military was called in. So Spice 1 was just speaking on history, but perhaps he did know history would repeat itself.

Man there was something so genuine and real about rappers in the 90s..It's crazy even when they would make a club banger type song they always had a balance between real issues in the black community and other real world issues we go through. Nowadays all it seems is non-stop hype songs, very rarely do you see rappers keeping the balance that the 90s had.

if you were given a free ticket to paradise, would you go? Ask yourself, "Where is Paradise and what would you find there?" Beaches, palms, and surf? Mountains and snow-capped peaks? Is Paradise the unity of mankind and peace on earth? Paradise is actually the place where God dwells. Most people think they will go to Paradise when they die, but let's see if that's true. Have you ever lied or stolen? Liars and thieves will not be in Paradise. Have you lusted after others, or dishonored your parents? Have you cursed the God who created Paradise? If any of these are true, you've offended Him and broken His Law. Instead of entering Paradise, the penalty for your crimes will be eternal death in Hell. However, God offers Paradise to those who bring Him a sinless payment for their sins. Your goodness and good deeds are not that sinless payment. God will only accept the sacrifice of His sinless Son, Jesus Christ. Anyone who repents and believes in Him will be cleansed of their sins and given that free ticket to Paradise! Jesus promised the thief on the cross who trusted in Him: "... Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43) Do not live in a "fool's" Paradise thinking this life is all there is. God is inviting you to the "real" Paradise through faith in Jesus Christ. When you breathe your last breath and life on earth is over, will it be Paradise "lost" or Paradise "found" for you?

This is a beautiful and relevant rap song. Even the most gangsters were conscious and articulate enough to make songs that had substance. The 90s man.

This song has been playin' in my head for a few days now. After all these years, it's still good and knocks like the first time. One of my favorites from Spice. Oooh and the full album knocks too.

Born in 1994 raised on 106&park and RapCity. I use to be into that new age Crunk Trap era for the longest but I soon started checking out Scarface, Dj Screw & the S.U.C., Big Pun, Big L, Outkast, Biggy, Pac, Bone Thugs and Rakim and absolutely loved them all. Now im starting to look even further into it finding greatness in Spice-1, 8 Ball & MJG Method Man, Nas, Devin Tha Dude, Too Short, DMX, Nate Dogg, Snoop and Kurupt. This is the Greatest Hip-Hop song of all time. It exposes the most general intricacies of poverty. Which is the reason I believe this art grew through concrete. One love ✌✌✌

The Original Eastbay Gangsta and one of the most underrated hip hop artists ever. His first two albums were classics and his debut 'Spice 1' can be argued as the 'template' or blueprint for West coast hiphop gangsta lifestyle to this day. I always thought he and Pac woulda worked more together, Spice schooled him to the game in the Bay. They were supposed to be on "One Nation", an east/west collaboration 2pac was doing, but it never transpired as the 10-20 tracks had artists from a variety of labels who all wanted to capitalize on Pac's death and the project. To all you youngins, under 25, please download Spice 1's self titled 'Spice 1' debut album and personally write me if you don't love it. Keep in mind that this era was very strong with racial tension, the riots, O.J., and gangs and rappers telling stories about this struggle were not only being indirectly blamed, but record companies were scrambling to find the next Too Short, Dre, 2pac, etc.
