The last time you saw me was at the beginning of the year, in the depths of winter.
I had decided that this year was gong to be the year that I put all of my efforts into fishing Redhouse
I knew it was going to be tough. Spending the long dark winter nights on this rather tricky water. And My angling abilities were going to be tested to the full, But I looked forward to the challenge ahead.
It’s now the middle of September .The lake has truly woken up now and is looking as stunning as ever. I have lost count of how many nights I have spent on the banks, seeking out my first Redhouse carp. Many hours spent watching the water, Changing tactics and refining my presentations has finally paid off.
It’s now time for an update on how I have been getting on. I talk about how I changed my tactics and rigs to finally bag a Redhouse stunner ( or two)

Good old redhouse, took the challenge my self a quite a few years ago, but i am surprised you can use a drone so close to the airport 🛫?

Hi. Thanks for your comment. Redhouse is deffinatly a challenge mate but worthwhile. How did you get on on there? With regards to the drone footage, it does state in the video discription that all drone footage was shot back in 2017. This was before all the new laws came into place. I am fully aware of the laws surrounding this practice and also the club rules which banned drones on Redhouse. Thanks for watching. 👍😁🎣

Well can't really say much as it was fantastic well happy and jell at the same time for you your hard work has payed off iv only had the one out of redhouse myself and that was just a tench 😔 but I keep going as its a wicked place to fish and the price is good, I fish same side as you do so might see you down there one day tight lines anyway mark plus might try that bait out myself 👍

Brilliant video mark well done buddy I wish I was as experienced as you, red house is quite daunting for me because I’m a beginner carp angler I need to improve on my casting, feeling the lead and finding spots, I’m really struggling with that, I’ve grown up just fishing in the margins really that’s not required much casting. Oh and if your looking for another water to fish next year they’re is silt pool just next to redhouse it’s on the Derby Railway Angling Club ticket! Not as big as red house but still holds some great carp, I’ve fished it a couple of times never had carp myself but I know people who have, it is definitely worth a shot 👍

Hi Connor. Many thanks for your comment. Keep at it mate and you will get there. Practise makes perfect as they say. Redhouse is probably not the best place for a novice angler as it is a rather difficult lake, but i,m sure if you can work the lake out then you will have some good results. I have found myself another water to fish now but i have looked at the silt pool and haver actually seen some nice carp caught from it.I will keep it in mind for the future. My time on Redhouse is nowhere near done yet, i just need a break for a while. Good luck with your fishing mate. Cheers, Mark

Hi Paul. Thanks for your comment mate. Yes it was a bit bleak on Redhouse during the winter but i really enjoyed it. Was great having the lake to myself at times. Learnt a lot about the lake this year which is what my fishing on Redhouse was lacking in years past. Well done on your fishing mate. Its good when it all finally comes together on a new lake. I will do a rig tying video for the combi rig at some point. Ive been a bit busy this week so will probably have to wait until i get back from my work trip. Im glad you like our leaders. Great to see another film from you. They are so beautiful to watch and you are a very relatable person. I’m sure many like myself will stick around and wait for any other future uploads,however long the gap. Better to put out a film as and when we feel up to it,rather than do something just because you feel pressured into it. As long as you are happy with what you produce and when ,we will love it. Hi Darren. Wow, thank you for those kind words. Its comments like this that make it all worth while for me. You are right what you say. I do feel pressured sometimes into putting films out. I really enjoyed making this film and a lot of work went into it both on the bank and in the editing. Its a shame that KZbins algorithm doesn't push content enough when its not regular. Hence why this video is doing the worst of all videos i have released. Redhouse is a stunning venue and holds some very special fish. Its well worth the money and effort if you can find the time . Me and me mates fished redhouse for 2 seasons unless your on the fish you get a good night sleep you need to live down there to catch something if u plan on coming on a Friday all the good pegs are gone. And the chance of getting on the fish is slim. But I’ll be back next year to try and catch my first carp from redhouse nice one mate

Hi Paul. Thanks for watching mate. Glad you enjoyed it. The Xtd is a good spod reel. Very smooth and a very fast retrieve. It's got a big handle to which is easy to grip. I rate it highly hence why I haven't moved over to the emblem spod reel. 🎣😁👍

Hi Mark. Who knows what the stock is in Redhouse mate. I wouldn’t say there was even 100 fish in there. I know a few have got out in the last flood as they were caught in the river last year. I would defo say there isn’t 300 fish in there. It’s worth joining if you don’t mind putting in the work and blanking a lot. The rewards are there though mate 🎣😁👍

Fantastic thank you love your films .Don't get the strange fetish with those reels though that a few people have they are awfull why would someone enjoy using a poor product they are terrible reels .I guess it's over now strangely the most enjoyable thing about these were lack of fish which made them different .Well done on sticking with it most would have moved on
