That was an okay video. I like to see all the camping gear you had that was fun and a lot of the fish you caught that was great but I wish you did more of a catching cook and had more action on the lake but I guess that's how fishing goes but another decent video and I can't wait to see more from you. I would love to see coming up a bunch of or some of catch and cook only what you can catch and eat since it's getting nicer out and the fishing will be better.

Red Tab: The red tab you mentioned is likely part of the downrigger’s release mechanism. When you attach your fishing line to the downrigger cable, you use a release clip. The red tab is usually on this clip. When a fish strikes, the tension on the line causes the clip to release, allowing you to fight the fish without the weight of the downrigger ball.

Love the vids. So well done. I miss camping. Use to do a bit when I was much younger. Come home smelling like charcoal. Lol The red little flashes of color are selected because fish like bass could see reds and greens very well but not a lot of other colors except shading. Trout I’m not sure about as far their best color options

Brotha, if you brine pork chops the night before, it will never overcook or go bad as fast. Just salt water until it tastes like the sea. Add any herbs and or dry spices.

All I can say is that trout like current better than anything. Maybe if you found a stream flowing into the lake or where like a waterfall might be coming down and hitting the water, or extreme flowing out of the lake. That might turn up some trout for you. Other than that, the trout that are in there, were they stocked that you know of? Or were they native? Whatever they be, that's my two cents. I had a no trout trip a few weeks ago in Missouri. Conditions felt off, windy, still cold. Scope showed them at 30-50ft but nothing bit. Wish i had your downriggers, that might have given me a shot, but even then fishing just felt off. I'm going to go for bass and catfish in a few more weeks, hopefully things start waking up around here.

That cut of pork is partly why you dried it out btw. If you buy thinner pork chops they pan fry faster and keep moist. If you use big thick ones they are more for slow cooking.

That little red tag on the spinner is supposed to indicate blood that it was injured. That’s what they do red hooks and red under jig heads to emulate that it’s been injured. And it’s supposed to make the fish feel that it’s injured, and it needs to be eaten the kind of circle of life kind of thing.
