Ingredients
1. 500 grams of Skinless Chicken
2. 2 & ½ tsp of pepper powder
3. 1/4th tsp of coriander powder
4. 2 tbsp of oil
5. 2 medium sized sliced onions
6. ½ tbsp of ginger garlic paste
7. 15 cashew nuts
8. 4 cloves
9. 1 inch cinnamon stick
10. 3 green cardamoms
11. 1/4th tsp of peppercorn
12. ½ cup of curd / yoghurt
13. 1 tsp of kasuri methi
14. 1 tsp of garam masala powder
15. 1 tsp of lime juice (Optional)
16. Salt as per taste
Method
Take a bowl with 500 grams of skinless chicken. Add 1 tsp of pepper powder, 1/4th tsp of coriander powder, ½ tsp of salt. Mix it well and then keep it aside for marination for 1 hour. Meanwhile while the chicken marinates, take a pan and add 1 & ½ tbsp of oil. Once the oil is hot enough, add 2 medium sized sliced onions & fry it for 3 - 4 minutes.
After 4 minutes, add ½ tbsp of ginger garlic paste and fry it well until the raw smell of the ginger garlic paste goes away. Once the onions have cooled down, take a grinder jar and add the fried onions along with 15 cashew nuts and grind it into a paste. After grinding it, keep it aside.
In the same pan used to fry the onions, add ½ tbsp of oil and 4 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon stick, 3 green cardamoms and 1/4th tsp of peppercorn. After 1 minute, add the ground onions and cashew paste and let this cook for 5 to 6 minutes on low flame. After 6 minutes, add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook this for another 6 minutes on medium flame. After 6 minutes, reduce the flame to low flame and add ½ cup of curd along with ½ tsp of cumin powder. Mix this well and let this cook for 3 to 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, add 2 tsp of pepper powder and 3/4th tsp of salt. Mix the ingredients well and let this cook for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, add ¾ th cup of water, 1 tsp of kasuri methi and 1 tsp of garam masala powder. Mix all of it well and let it cook for another 4 minutes. Then add 1 tsp of lime juice (Optional) and add additional salt as per taste
