Even as derpily as he's drawn in this series, it's hard to lose Peter. You just think about everything he could have been and could have had, and you realize that he died just because he wanted to be the hero that, 999 times out of a thousand, he's destined to be.

It's also a stark reminder that Peter's life before the spider bite was the kind of bad where he might've snapped and done what he did in this universe.

It's so weird that Spider-Gwen knows she died in most universes while Peter became the hero. That's so opposite her experience, it's got to mess her up a bit.

The currently large number of AU Gwens common death has exist thanks to a institutionalized way of thinking that has existed since one version of Gwen died in the comics (the 616 version) due to the fact people don't like change. Now not all Gwen's are dead (there are many Gwens who live but sadly then Peter is the one who dies on many Earths) and so far three Spider-Gwen has been shown to exist (Giant Size Little Marvel Earth, A-force Earth (whom it has been indication that Earth's Gwen and MJ might be in a relationship), and of course Earth-65 Spider-Gwen) and thanks to Spider-Gwen I wouldn't be shocked if future AU Gwen's fate is no longer quite set on death but maybe now other directions which I feel is a great thing. The common Gwen AU death has now even be joke about as in a recent comic called "Web Warriors" that features many AU Spider heroes the Punk Rocker Spider-Man Hobart Brown from Earth-138 showed up and flipped out when he saw Gwen Stacy of Earth-65. Instead of grief and sadness however he was fanboying talking about how legendary his rebel rocker Gwen is and how epic awesome how her greatest piece of work was how she croaked on stage and how inspirational and beautiful it was. Her response was disbelief and annoyance. Overall other Gwen's death doesn't really seem to bother her as much as her own Peter's death that has caused her to have panic attacks and shell-shocked at one point in the series.

I've got to say that the only thing I dislike in this universe is the fact that Daredevil is working with Kingpin but that is it. Gwen is an awesome and interesting character, I am very curious of Frank Castle here and hell, I'd even love to see why DD is a bad guy, maybe instead of Stick training him, he was found and trained by the Hand and is their leader, that'd be neat and then we can get a bad ass Ninja Daredevil vs Spider-Gwen fight. I want these comics.

August James Well it's a different person, whereas most of the other versions are just different versions of Peter Parker and have the same color preference, all the Spider-men/Women who are not alternate Peter Parker's seem to have a different color scheme.

Very late response, but originally her costume was supposed to be very different, the writer wanting a more makeshift outfit that sported red and blue. However, the design notes never got to the lead artists, and by the time they were getting ready to actually sit down and do her book, the new design the leads made stuck.
