@@KelvJasonyou were not paying attention. First, is she a good liar? Right now, compared to her dlc, it looks like she sucks. She can’t convince Kraven of anything (to the point where he thinks she’s going straight without speaking to her), she doesn’t manage to remove Miles weariness, (the exact reason Pete sends Miles to find her instead of going after her himself), and her normal manipulation is now extremely poor. Remember when she gave just enough of her lies to make Peter hang on to every word, this is none of that. She lays her cards on the table and is called on being untrustworthy by Miles, something Peter never does. Her normal coyness even when lying about serious things is replaced with emotion and frustration that she even lacked when talking about her kidnapped son. Finally, remember what happens when she does finally get what she wants, she revels in conning people when it all comes together, both in comics and in this game, like in the dlc. But what happens here, a tearful “thank you” that is honestly out of character for her. She doesn’t keep up lies when they no longer serve a purpose and she can’t even con Miles out of the wand as she leaves. So her being good at lying doesn’t excuse her behavior here, especially how reckless and unlike her it is. Kraven is even the first to comment on it and it’s done from behavior she doesn’t know he sees.

Do you know what bothers me about Felicia? She thanks Miles and complains to Peter that he didn't show up and acts as if Miles is the good one. It was she who lied to Peter for a long time and took advantage of him. Do you still remember the thing with Felicia and Peter's alleged son? Side content is garbage. Reused swing animations, combat, everything were used. So... that's it? Barely 10 minutes of her presence in the sequel? I mean sure, that fight with the portal mechanics was cool and all, but... that's it? She was such a phenomenally introduced character in the first game and they barely used her in the 2nd one? Like... I didn't expect her to become Peter's love interest [the story is way to safe to do this] but reducing her presence to 3rd game/potential DLC [again!] bait is a waste of potential. Like hell, have spiders help with her girlfriend problem in NY, have her work from the backlines, locating Kraven's targets for Spiders to protect. Have her banter with everyone via comms. Shame. I stopped watching the whole playthrough after her bit to see if there's more and I'm disappointed. This is a first negative in the overall story for me.

I'm not a comic book guy and I barely remember the Spidey cartoons I watched as a kid but what I love about this franchise is that it bases itself on a fairly original/barely used characters [like Felicia or Doc Ock] but at the same it sticks to a almost annoying degree with MJ as a love interest. It's just Insomniacs vision, otherwise we wouldn't have those "awesome" MJ missions in both games, because she has to have some "use." I've made my peace with the fact that she's not going anytime soon.

After watching the initial reveal trailer, my expectations soared. With the game set to launch on the PS5, I anticipated mind-blowing graphics and an unparalleled gaming experience. However, what we received was quite different - it seemed like copy-paste animations, graphics reminiscent of the PS4 era, and a combat system that felt all too familiar. It boiled down to repeatedly spamming one button for punches and kicks, with no nuanced counter mechanics or the breathtaking slow-motion Matrix-style sequences I had hoped for. Instead, there was merely parrying, and it made the game feel overly easy. I had yearned for a challenging adventure, something akin to the difficulty level found in God of War, where two hits could mean your demise. But alas, it felt like the game was tailored for casual gamers who happened to be Spider-Man fans. The absence of advanced web mechanics, the inability to swing with both hands, and the lack of signature moves like the iconic loopy loop from the earlier Spider-Man games were noticeable disappointments. The combat lacked the dynamism of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, where you could ride on opponents and execute impressive slow-motion web strikes. Furthermore, there was no wall combat or running down walls, which seemed like a missed opportunity for an otherwise promising title. It was disheartening to see such potential underutilized in the game's development, making me wonder if they could have pushed the boundaries further. As a fan, I found it challenging to reconcile my enthusiasm for Spider-Man with the reality of the game. Comparatively, Batman Arkham Knight offered superior gameplay, graphics, and overall gaming experience. It felt like I was inadvertently being a biased fanboy. However, it's worth noting that with the advent of PC mods, the game might eventually become more enjoyable, even with its current graphical limitations. Upgrading my monitor to 4K and incorporating graphic, web, combat, difficulty, suit, and gadget mods could potentially breathe new life into the experience. Another issue that gnawed at me was the voice actor for Miles Morales. His high-pitched, squeaky voice was grating and disruptive. It made me yearn for a more fitting voice that would enhance the story and dialogue. Perhaps they could have invested in a voice actor who resembled Miles and exhibited a more mature tone, similar to what we saw in the animated feature "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse." Such a change could have vastly improved the overall immersion in the game. I had heard buzz about the game, with claims like "you won't be able to tell the difference between cutscenes and gameplay." Frankly, it felt like marketing tactics designed to build hype, rather than a genuine reflection of the game's visual quality. My expectation was to witness graphics on par with God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn, fully leveraging the capabilities of the PS5. To my dismay, the reality fell short of my expectations. It's absolutely embarrassing how it's the same animations combos, swing animations, takedown animations,😂😂😂 It's crazy how I waited so long and I bought a PS5 and once I saw that initial reveal trailer I saw that the combat was unchanged. The same five hit combos, the same dodging moves, the combat speed is way too slow. You have to speed it up like the Arkham games. It was fun because he punched super quickly and you felt the blow up every punch. The sound effects sounded like gunshots that's what made it interesting. In this game with the power of the PS5 you could have increased the combat speed a bit more. You were too lazy to add new combat animations. That's just pure laziness. Sony focus mostly on story didn't give a shit about refining the gameplay. The symbiote is so weak compared to Web of shadows. The combat is way better there. The combat is lacking here I think this is the worst Spider-Man game in terms of combat. In the last 10 years😂😂 It's unbelievable and in certain cutscenes it looks like a PS4😂😂😂 power of the PS5 my ass😂😂 now that I know what I'm expecting the next game is about to be the exact same😂😂 I'm not expecting anything different nothing revolutionary at all. I know I put my hopes up way too high only to get disappointed once again. This is a joke of a franchise if Rocksteady, rockstar, sucker punch, Santa Monica made this game the graphics gameplay would have been a billion times better instead of focusing on story the story ain't even all that. Only thing Sony cares about is selling as much copies they don't care about nothing else that's why God of war had the same exact gameplay nothing changed only added a weapon didn't do anything different like stealth gameplay, jumping mechanics anything different to mix up the monotony of the shitty boring story.😂 It appears that we might have to wait for future console generations, like the PS10, to witness Marvel's Spider-Man truly achieve commercial trailer-level graphics. The current state of the game, while not without its merits, leaves much to be desired, and it's a reminder that even beloved franchises can sometimes fall short of our expectations.
