I’ve notice a majority of the comments are hating on the swinging but the mechanics are basically from the E3 2017 SC… meaning it’s an early build to incorporate the wing suit mechanics which was previously teased in the 2018 release which was noticeably amped after launch soooo… it’s gonna change with the finished product… (Patience is a virtue people)❤

@@bobadeeznuts7011 Exactly because when it comes to game design and a sequel to a game mechanics from the 1st game will and are going to be used for the next one and I don't have a problem with that, the batman arkham games is an example for that, obviously it makes good sense to add new animations and mechanics because a sequel is supposed to be bigger and better. But people hating on the web swinging simply because they were using animations from the first game is absurd.

The only thing holding this game back is the swing mechanics. It just feels like your on auto pilot. No real momentum or a way to be creative and I think adding the wing suit was a cheap way not to fix the swing mechanics which this game desperately needs. It seems like the game is holding your had a little too much. I was kinda bored with miles morales game and story. This game kinda seems the same.

In a more general sense, this hand holding is implemented in many of the newer games, just compare them to games that came around 2013 or 2015 and you'll notice the colossal difference in hand holding.

I think the main problem with the swinging, at least in my opinion, is its too slow. They should have an advanced swinging mode that uncaps speed and allows for more control, like not auto releasing webs and being able to run on the ground if you go low enough. That way, everyone gets what they want.

Agreed on the speed. Did you see how Miles lost all the momentum from the sling shot once he started swinging? Also, Peter chasing the chopper doesn't show any improvements to the swinging speed. Even though I'm excited for the game, I'm a bit disappointed in the swinging speed displayed thus far.

@@willspare Anyway, the standard web swinging of dropping webs across buildings, we already noticed that it's the same, the animation starts before the web even connects to the building, Even if new swinging animations are added, that's not the point, I think the web swinging should be faster, the one from the previous game was cool but it was slow even taking the maximum Momentum, what makes spider man 2 the best, is being realistic to the point of you (IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH SKILL) You can be so fast and cool that you feel like the real spider man being powerful and fast, And of course, the realism of the web hitting the building and the character actually following the swing of the web with Physics , which doesn't happen in 2018 and Miles Morales, putting it in slow motion you notice that the swing animation It starts right after the web leaves the wrist, and not when the web hits the building, this limits the fluidity of the mechanics a little!

nah we def need more variation of moves while swinging and more control in general. doesn’t need to be anything crazy but we def need more control of swinging. everything in spiderman ps4 although smooth and satisfying to play is repetitive and very much on rails and automatic miles morales improved on the animations, tricks, fluidity of the web swinging system but spiderman 2 really needs to expand upon it

This is the third game and web swinging seems exactly the same from the past two games, it fun swinging for a couple hours then you realize there is no creativity when swinging or momentum. I know this game has a wing suit but I think that was a cheap way not to fix the swing mechanics this game desperately needs. It’s just boring and it feels like the game holds your hand a little too much and the story in the last two games were weak so I don’t expect much from this one, even if venom and kraven are in this game. Overall it doesn’t really show anything different.
