if you hold the up key and 8 at the same time it does the bubble web and you just stand there it will continuously fire at the enemy and you can kill them really quickly. The water cutscenes only happen on the easier difficulties. If you play on harder ones you have to hit the switch yourself and jump down before it comes back up and it’s actually pretty unforgiving on hard

Basically someone dressed up as Spidey steals one of Doc Ock inventions (acting as if he was good) during a demonstration. Eddie is there too and, in his stupidness, assumes Spidey stole it (which is why Venom kidnapped MJ). Spidey even points out how stupid Venom was considering the real Peter bumped into Eddie during the heist. Granted Venom in this game is just stupid. Meanwhile the city gets flooded in fog to excuse the draw distance in the g- I mean... because it's to set up a symbiote breeding ground. Ultimately this is a plan conjured up by Doc Ock and Carnage and culminates in a neat chase scene as Spidey swings through various halls away from Carnage-Ock.

*I will explain.* Game does some of the objectives automatically for you on lower difficulty levels. You were supposed to "figure out" to flip the switch , and not rush in and drown. Difficulty level is not just amount of health and damage in this game.
