Well there was no such thing as dlc, it literally HAD to be that way. If you had an idea and wanted it to be in Your game, provided you had enough space you then program it and whalla. When dlcs were significant add ons it wasnt that bad, but yeah, now a days its pretty bullshit.

It was the norm back in the day. Games had to stand on their own, not their DLC and day 1 patches. Once DLC started to replace expansions, and it was easier to release a game jsut to get people to buy it, and fix it later (maybe) , it turned less from "Hey, lets make a quality game that will sell because of quality" to "PUMP OUT THIS YEARS NEWEST TITLE IN A FRANCHISE! what's new? the price and the number on the front! "

And honestly, why not? We were spoiled when we were kids. Developers who had real passion for their games, enjoyed making them.... so they had all of these 'extra features' just thrown in. Now, 20 years on, we all EXPECT them, as a part of the base price. It's gone on for so long that taking their 'extras' back and charging for t hem at this point is seen as an evil greedy act. It's their time, to begin with, lol. Their choice to make extras like that. So yeah. 20 bucks DLC. And if you want the gaming industry to thrive through tough times, then you'll pay it. Rough spot for the one doing all this work. Very easy to get burned out.

Tripple A publishers only make games out of greed, trying to get more money by removing content to sell as dlc, using microtransactions and lootboxes, making devs work more without paying them more, your solution is to keep buyin? the ones who is making money is the CEO not the devs. We have developers who have real passion, just look at indie games, Stardew valley, Terraria, hollow knight and so on. Its not "tough times" the game industry is making alot of money by chaging extra for every single thing, games now cost more to make, but they sales are very high, most of these games make the money back and more on the week they launched. The problem with the gaming industry is people like you who gets shafted by them and still are simping for them asking us to keep buying crap.

Oh boy, greatest game of my childhood. Used to play from the start all the time because my big brain never thought about loading the previous saves, just straight into starting the game from 0. Didn't matter, I played it all over again but never to the end cause the sewer level scared the shit out of me and I would always get lost, no help from google back then, but after many years, I finished it hehe last year, such a joy to play this gem again. Best Spidey game out there (but man, the camera system, that was terrible)

The funny part is when I was about 7 years old I accidentally came across this and it scared me shitless, I immediately turned off the ps2 and went to my brother and told him there’s a ghost in the Spider-Man game and when he boot up the game the “what if” mode it was turned off and he kept just telling me that I was making things up and then 16 years later I was finally able to show him that I was not wrong😂

Paying the extra $10-20 for additional content isn’t bad. Its only an issue when you’re paying extra to buy additional content to an incomplete game (basically buying an extra $10-30 to have a complete game)

And at 3:35 if you go to the other side of the billboard on the left, it’s an ad for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. Spiderman says “Hey, it’s Tony Hawk! I used to skate with that guy!” Because both games are made by the same company (Pro Skater 2 came out the year before Spiderman did) and Spiderman was an unlockable character in Pro Skater 2.

This was one of the best ps1 games. Lots of content (even to DLC levels) didn't inflate the price of a game at all. Other games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 had tons more content than the arcade version for example. A wonderful console. (Yes I know this is the pc version)

Wow I never knew about this! One of my favorite childhood game and it's still amongst the best superhero games ever made! I used to go to a cybercafe as a kid to play it. And now I can easily emulate it on my phone :) The combat was awesome with so many awesome combos. The cheats, collectibles and all the side stuff was great. The music was kickass aswell. Stan Lee narrating it made it even better :) Every level felt unique and they packed in so much in such a short game. I'd say the boss battles in this game are more intense than the ones in Spiderman (2018) which I played recently on pc.
