Also Miles gets his Gwen moment in Mumbattan when the Spot kicks her and she hits her head and we see her falling, I think that was a nice callback to OG Peter and the dreaded moment but he ends up catching her.. I thought that was really interesting and I really appreciated that scene. Poor Andrew, can we just petition to bring him back for The Amazing Spider Man 3. His story shouldn't have to end like that, his Peter deserves better.

This film hit me on so many personal levels for me. I am a British born Black American with Caribbean and Indian ancestry. As a kid in London I called tea, chai. When moved to NYC, I stopped because I wanted to fit in. It turns out I was right all along! I was born in Haringey one borough away from Camden, the birthplace of punk, Hobie Brown (such a BritishCaribbean name) and Daniel Kalluya. The scene where Rio gives him her blessing made me tear up because getting a benediction from your elders in such a Caribbean thing. Trivia Brock's Venomints - Brachs is a candy company mostly known for Easter candy and Vellamints is a regional gum maker. Miles 42 and his mother have a different eye color than our Miles. He alao looks older like he has seen some stuff since Jeff died. He also rolls his R's since he has spent more time with his PR mom since his dad passed.

One thing I think is cool is Hobbie only helps Miles because Gwen cares for Miles and Gwen is his drummer. Hobbie looks out for his own and that mean Gwen and the dude she likes. I love it. He even tells Miles this while he's getting the stuff ready! It also kinda feels like Hobbie is feeling Miles out like a big brother or a friend would. Like you does he like Gwen and Miles does why does he want to join so he can be in a band lol. Hobbie knew when Miles showed up Gwen was going to have to make a choice like Miles was going to. And the rebel knew after he saved guy what they both would do. Damn this is just Hobbie!!

There's a bunch of takeaways from this film, it was amazing. When it showed Miles in braids, a bunch of is in the theater was like, ayyyyyyye lol those braids were awesome too see, that's a version I can't wait to see. A few things I haven't seen mentioned. Miguel did something like Wanda. He looked into a different universe and took over for that version of him. I wanted them to go over now why he's like a vampire and what he injects. Also, by creating his group, created something very similar to the TVA. Which kinda makes Miguel similar to Kang, having access to different universes. A clue that something was off too me at the end, was when Miles saw his mom, she didn't yell at him for being gone for so long. Honestly, I feel for the The Spot. Imagine if some kid did something and made you disfigured and basically not really human anymore. Miles never meant that to happen, but it did, and that's painful for him and I think it makes him a great nemesis to Miles, since they made each other. This was such an amazing movie. Loved seeing all the different Spider People and animals and things lol. Loved the art, the dynamic of Gwen's story and her growth but also, the betrayal that Miles experienced from everyone knowing and not telling him. He was hurt. Also, how about how freaking powerful The spot is compared to nearly any other. The multiverse, part of his body and everything that he can do. We didn't even get to see his real power, in anticipating to see it. I can't wait until Beyond The Spider Verse! Honestly, this trilogy is the best. It's beyond EPIC!

I love how they use Chekhov’s Gun in this movie. Like, how it starts with Gwen quitting her band and then forming her own in the end, how Hobie tells Miles to use his palms at Alchemax and then brings it back to help him get away, and how they show the “go home machine” and what it does then brings it back to allow Miles to go “home.”

Miles and Gwen were briefly in a relationship (by briefly, I mean like 2 issues) but broke up once they visited Earth-8, a reality where they got married and had kids. Gwen was freaked out and didn’t want to follow what she thought of as a predetermined path. Personally, I prefer Miles and Kamala. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Something interesting I just noticed. At 35:19, you can see the taxi's front plate reads TT1207. I Googled its relevance to Marvel (knowing how often license plates are Easter eggs), and couldn't find anything. However, the first result for "TT1207 Marvel" is the Marvel Wiki's unofficial Earth designation Earth-TRN207, which is a universe that Peter Parker once got pulled into in which he doesn't exist. Which, in a way, is how the movie ends, with Miles accidentally getting pulled into a universe where Spider-Man doesn't exist (the only one, according to Miguel). Given the difference between TT1207 and TRN207, and the unofficial status of the TRN designation, this may be a stretch, but it's an interesting coincidence!

Really? I found myself thinking Spot is responsible for his own fate. Miles didn't seek out his powers. Spot helped create the spider and the machine. He was working on the project, knowing the danger. He is doing dangerous things with the machine for a bad guy (Kingpin) who was warned that what he wants to do can destroy everything. Spot didn't walk away even though that's os always an option. Not saying you're wrong, just giving a different point of view in that Spot is not recognizing his own part in what happened to him. P.S. I feel bad for Spot situation, but I don't blame Miles for what happened to him because he doesn't own his own part in it.

I think the traumas were 2 separate events, the first was the spark that puts them on the right path and then the second is whoever becomes the police captain which is supposed to be another lesson in itself. That’s the way I took it at least. For example Gwen’s first was Peter but she was still relieved when her father said he was retiring because he was the captain and was “destined” to die

I think absolute points are limited to one single universe, whereas canon events are concurrent to every universe. Because Christine's death in What If is considered an absolute point for that alternate Dr. Strange, but Christine is still alive and well in the main MCU universe. I love all the little details in this movie, especially in Miles G Morales room that shows Miles isn’t in the right universe. Above the headboard of the bed in earth 42 it says oashimi instead of sashimi. Also on the panel above Miles G Morales desk, there’s a piece of purple paper with what looks like blueprints for Prowlers glove. Another detail I noticed is that during one of the times Miles glitches when clinging onto the train in the chase scene for a split second you see Miles in his store bought Spider Man costume from the first movie. Also, there’s this moment just before they send Gwen back to the universe in the Go-home machine (can’t remember if thats correct) where as Miguel is talking to Gwen, Ben Reilly flexes his muscles then gives himself a little nod like ‘yeah, I’m still ripped.’😂

I’m not too sure if this is a stretch. But if I remember correctly in the movie Miguel says that the canon events are what connect the spider verse together and as I understand it make the spider verse the spiderverse. So I’m thinking potentially that if you disrupt enough canon events, that then becomes an event that also connects the spider people together, meaning they are no longer anomalies that break the multiverse but also become canon events. Honestly, not sure if that makes much sense😅

Best part about all the characters in across the spiderverse is none of them are objectively evil, spot a little more arguable but even at the end of the film he has redeeming qualities, he’s as much of an enemy to the spider society as much as miles is but even then he calls himself “the villan” so they overlook him for the most part, miles even tries to apologize while the other spider people half ass it. That’s not even mentioning the masterpiece behind Miguel, just like every other spider person in any medium his experience make him who he is and he’s not wrong for thinking the way he does, there’s a reason hundreds of people follow him, based on their experiences they think he’s right but everyone who truly knows Miles ends the movie believing “you can do both” instead of “you can’t save them all”

The cakes debate is exactly why I believe that Miles is in desperate need of a lesson learned, with the arrogant „I can do both!“ as well. He is a teenager still, for Miles it’s „my way or the highway“. While Miguel is stubborn too, it comes from the weight of atonement and all the responsibilities of the Spiderverse. He is also way more knowledgeable of the situation at hand than Miles, so IMO Miles only hope to „eat both cakes“ is for him to be the responsible adult and to come to a compromise with Miguel. I also question Hobies motives against the Spider Society, he seems to just want everything to run wild, pure anarchy, which I have never agreed with.

@22:39 No one's done anything horribly wrong so far? I know Miles is a Spider-Man variation, and he is anomaly breaking canon, however, Miguel was willing to send an entire squad after a kid, which he also drew claw marks on him which is a sign of harm. May not be villainous but he was willing to be a menace to a kid.

It’s interesting that there’s no miles in spider society. My theory is Miguel isn’t letting them in because if the other Spider-Men saw mileses walking about they would be less inclined to believe 1610 miles is an anomaly
