Hey Sean, I have some suggestions for your collection. I recently went through something similar where I was moving out of my parents house and disconnected from it. I have about 3000 comics, and the rate of expansion was untenable. But what I realized was that owning runs, even partial runs, can usually recoup almost all of the money you spent on eBay. So I sold everything that wasn’t part of the Marvel Universe, 500 issues in total, and now anytime I read a run that’s not Marvel I immediately sell it after I’m done. I have more money for the comics I want to collect than ever, and there’s no exponential growth anymore. Also, I realized that I could use short boxes more creatively than I have been. The desk in my room? Removed and replaced with stacked boxes with a sheet of wood on top, and it works great. That corner with a small empty space? Stuck a comic box in it. Now I feel happier than ever about my collection, because its honed and tight, and I can expand far more than ever. You also might focus heavily on legacy numbers. I have 700 issues of Amazing Spider-Man in a row, and that’s cool. But do I need the tie-ins? The events? No. Having long, complete runs is more satisfying when the fluff is cut.
