Ah, the era where i consistently started getting Spider-Man comics as they came out. They decided to start officially releasing these comics translated to Spanish here in Bolivia around 2009 and my mom would get them for me every Friday when leaving school. I remember being very confused that none of the elements I knew from the movies and games never appeared but at the time I chalked it up to BND being an alternate universe (I had no clue about OMD back then lol). I still have those floppies to this day and I will admit that while they can be very forgettable to me now, I still hold a very special place in my heart for this era, even knowing it's not the best lol. Might get this Omni when it gets a good price drop, thanks for the awesome overview Omar and for bringing back some good memories 👍

I think some people forget that “One More Day” also gave Spider-Man his secret identity back but they don’t explain how until a story called “One Moment In Time” in issues 638 to 641 almost three years later.

Man this era still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Like, there are some really really cool stories in there no doubt, but at what cost. It's, imo, the prime example of Marvel's unfortunate refusal to just let 616 Peter Parker grow up.

IMO Marvel should let Pete grow up and move his stories into a similar mold to Hickmans Ultimate version. Then you can let Miles become the young and hip Spiderman for younger audiences. Similar to what happened with Wally West after Barry Allen died. I know DC then brought Barry back again but you get my point

A great era that opened a lot of story possibilities by talented writers. The main title hadn't had that level of creativity in a long while and you had to sample the secondary series.

I had been on one of my breaks from regular comic buying before this came out, but I was curious and the choice to make Amazing weekly did it's job and got me back in the store every week. I knew a lot of people had a lot of problems with One More Day, but I wasn't reading at that point and all I knew was I really liked this Brand New Day. It was fun Spidey.

Hey 👋🏼 Omar I hope you're having a great day, so far I was wondering if you can get Marvel to fix the Web of Spider-Man Vol 1 Omnibus that's missing Issues of the Missing in Action storyline that goes between Web of Spider-Man 16-18, it's missing parts 3 and 4 of the storyline: Amazing Spider-Man #279 & Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #117 And the Life in the Mad Dog Ward storyline that happens in issue Web of Spider-Man #33 it's missing parts 2 and 3: Amazing Spider-Man #295 & Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #133

I remember being about 16-17 at the time reading this era and Honestly loving it. Yes I was peeved by the One more Day story but to me anyway this breathed fresh devils breath(ha😅) to the title and all the new villains like Freak, paper doll and especially Mr Negative captured my imagination. As a introvert they were my escape from real world stress and the characters were like good friends to me. My favourite modern era Spider-Man was the JMS to the end of Slotts run. These were a great era of comics imo and I kinda think the current era lacks what made things so special. I haven't decided whether to get this omni or the eventual Epics but never the less one(more) day I'll upgrade my old Panini comics and have these wonderful stories in my collection.🙂

My logical mind understands why Marvel felt OMD was needed, and there are some good stories in here, but most (the best) could have happened without OMD. My emotional mind feels like Spidey never recovered from OMD.

personally for me I wasn't a fan of brand new day mostly because it felt like a big slap in the face for us Spider-Man fans and plus it took place after the horrible awful one more day which is still effecting us Spider-Man fans till this day, and for some dumb reason marvel refuses to retcon both OMD and BND out of existence and give us say I don't know, like have Peter parker and Mary jane get remarried and remember everything and have Peter parker and Mary jane have there daughter Mayday parker the future Spider-girl and Benjy parker their son alive and kicking in the main marvel universe but that's just my opinion.

I wanna go back to where Slott started as I love that Superior run. So how does the rest play out until Superior? Is there one more Omni in this line and then two Big Time Omnis? I love this era even though it's pretty hit and miss with all the different creative teams. I feel like nothing was ever as good as those first three issues by Slott & McNiven. Still a lot of good stuff though and I can't wait for Volume 2.

Enjoyed the content at end of the book with Unscheduled Stop, Betty’s Birthday, and Wolverine stories as the standouts, but the content before was not great. sticking with my “Death and Dating HC”, but hope this sells well enough for marvel to consider a Grim Hunt/Gauntlet collection in vol 3(?)

I'm excited to finally get this! It's the last piece I need to complete all of Spider-Man from the Clone Saga to Wells' run. There's probably another 4 omnis between Brand New Day and Superior so I'll probably end up binding all of it myself instead of waiting 10 years for marvel to decide to finally collect it all.

I thought Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man was a teacher in the JMS which takes place before a brand new day because in that Omnibus they had part of the civil War story when Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin went after his family. But anyway why did he go back to take pictures for the Daily Beagle.... For the ones who are a big fan of the Insomniac Spider-Man game we all know who Mr. Negative really is and that same story of Aunt May volunteering in a soup kitchen. I'm excited to see Screwball in the Brand New Day Omnibus as well....... By the way you can go ahead and spoil the previous stories arc of Spider-Man's especially the J Michael Straczynski because you already revealed the plot when you was going through and reviewing it previously. When you always saying you not going into details, sometimes you forget that some of us already know what's happening by watching your other videos when you discuss the stories 😂 lol.

Waiting on my order! I've said it before but IDGAF about crying over the big change with MJ. But what I thought was bizarre in BND was that they sort of magically inserted an incredibly bland cast of supporting characters, instead of building the relationships gradually, from the ground up. I also didn't appreciate the introduction of the very light and goofy tone that took over the book from this point. I was more of a fan of the grittier Spider-Man stories.

I’m a firm believer that YOU should read stories and judge them for yourself. I’m not a fan at all of the Ultimate Universe and I absolutely hate with a passion Identity crisis and Heroes in Crisis. Nor do I like New Avengers or Red Son. I also think Old Man Logan is a dull story with pretty art. And I’m sure in just that list of books, there are people that love those stories. This one is ups and downs. Some really great and fun stories that are very reminiscent of the 70s Spidey……and some dull and boring stories….. and then there is Jackpot….

I still remember Steven Wacker being a jerk to people on the CBR forums when this run launched🤣 "Good" times. I dropped Spider-Man after OMD , but I did read some of these issues well after the fact. I felt like it was trying to hard to be like an updated version of the Bronze Age stories, but some of the art in here is fantastic and I think these stories are better than any of the JMS stuff after JRJr left. I'm torn on this one.

This is the era that started the stories that ruined Spider-Man and erased all the character development. Only a few good stories here and there, with Roger Stern's issue being the highlight. Might be the first Spidey omni I'll skip

Some characters didn’t change. As a matter of fact most characters didn’t change. It was basically Peter and MJ. I don’t want to go into spoilers but even Harry is explained later. This isn’t a NU 52 reboot of Supes or Wonder Woman.
