One thing I love about Jax's reations is her attention to detail and good memory of past movies. If she hadn't pointed out Beck hiding at 10:22 I would've never notice him. And its something I don't see other reactors figuring out too.

Now that you'r at this point with the movies, we recomend you react to the Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy (2002- 2007) and the Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man" Duology (2012-2014). At certain point in the succecion of events, they will make a certain homenages to those films that you can apreciate more if you watch it. (Don't spoilers to those who knows please ;) )

I'm generally not sympathetic to the "you have to watch all sorts of shows to really get this" vibe, but in this case seeing all three Tobey Maguire and both Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies is a good idea. They form a solid base for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

@@Caseytify I don't think it's strictly necessary, but there are some things that are extra special if you've seen them. It felt like they made the movie as a love letter to those. Even though they're technically from a competing studio, it's so cool that Marvel's sharing so much love and appreciation.

I don't know if you notice but everytime there's an illusion the drones are still there doing all the damage. So closing your eyes is still a bad thing because the drones can still attack you. But Peter has spider sense so that's how he was able to see things coming even when his eyes are closed. Ned and MJ was blipped. Why would they be in Peter's class if they haven't. They should be in college now if they didn't get blipped.

As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, I was very familiar with Mysterio going in, from the comics to the games to the cartoons. The master of illusion. Yet, before the big reveal, I was convinced they were doing something different with him. I thought "oh this is new, but maybe he gets his villain arc in this movie?" Nope, just fell for the illusion. It helps that Earth 616 and 833 are real concepts in the comics, 616 being the _main_ Marvel universe where most characters were created and operate in. With Spider-verse fresh in people's minds and Marvel teasing the idea of a multiverse, it was easy to believe. The Mysterio scene at the warehouse was perhaps the best scene in the MCU for me at the time, even more trippy than the Dr. Strange one. I'd waited for years to see a live action interpretation of Mysterio's illusions, and they absolutely delivered. Also, while simply not looking isn't enough to completely do away with Mysterio's illusions, the hero Daredevil (who is blind) is known to not fall for them because he too has a sixth sense, and no vision to be confused by. The next movie in the trilogy is my favorite, it's definitely a mind-blower.

I love how the twist worked so well for even those of us who read the comics, simply because over the decade we had all become comfortable with the MCU not needing to be comic accurate in a What If sort of way. @@WDanielFichtel Oh that's a great point. Plus with Sony planning to make all of Spider-Man's villains heroes at the time, combined with not even a hint of Mysterio villainy in the trailers (mostly focusing on Iron Man guilt and working with Nick Fury) we all thought comic inaccuracy was assured.

Picking Peter and Spider-man to close out phase 3 is, as you said, the perfect choice. They could cover the fallout from The Blip, tie up loose threads, set up things coming in the next phase, and do it with the humor and goodheartedness that is part and parcel to Peter and his superhero journey. I absolutely love the time and reverence given to Tony and what he did to defeat Thanos. REALLY looking forward to you getting to the third Spider-man movie. I like to think the people who vanished from a plane, etc. Reappeared at their destination, people who disappeared from a car, reappeared on the nearest available sidewalk. You know, best available safe place to reappear. Imagine if someone disappeared from the park where the memorials were raised, and they reappeared partially in the memorial structure... eww. May *did* have to live without Peter. Remember, he was snapped. He was brought back 5 years later. 27:40-27:49 "if Tony's crew is all behind him." Those were not "Tony's Crew" those were a large number of people Tony directly or indirectly embarrassed, ridiculed or ruined in their eyes. This was Beck's approach to trick Tony's successor into handing him the keys to Stark's tools and technology.

The perfect antidote for Endgame (which I also loved), bringing back the sense of joy…and then ending with that giant sting in the tail. Since this was the third iteration of Spider-Man films, they played really fast and loose with the supporting cast, not only with the casting (in the comics, MJ isn't black, Liz isn't Indian, Ned isn't Filipino, and Flash isn't Persian), but placing everyone in high school, whereas originally (as seen in the Tobey Maguire films), Betty was Jameson's secretary and Ned was a reporter. And in the comics, Betty and Ned were married for about 25 years' worth of issues, so it's adorable to see the "summer fling" between such very different versions of the characters. (I love how they break up because they're "different people"…in a scene where they are wearing matching shirts and finishing each other's sentences. Lol, totally different, indeed.)

Yeah, late comment, but in the comics, Betty Brandt was Peter's original crush, long before Gwen or Mary Jane. She wasn't a student, but worked for the Daily Bugle, where Peter sold photos of Spider-Man to make money to help his "elderly" Aunt May. (She was white-haired and not at all like Marisa). The whole development of Mary Jane was a hoot. She was the niece of a next-door neighbor, and they teased her for about a year or so, with Aunt May trying to "fix them up". She eventually showed up at the door and said "You just hit the jackpot." Also, the guy with the glasses from Tony's team that you recognizd, was Peter Billingsly ... Ralphie from "A Christmas Story."

Those fuzzy hat guards are not ceremonial. They are the King's Guards (Queen's Guards at the time of the movie) and as such are armed and tasked with guarding the monarchy. A subset of this unit guards the Tower of London - the Yeomen of the Guard, also known as the Beefeaters. If you're familiar with the gin, you know that they aren't dressed like the fuzzy hat guards, but I think the movie had them in the fuzzy hats so American audiences wouldn't be confused.

I have been a fan of Spider-Man since 1986. Since 1995, I have been a fan of Mysterio. Through various parallels, Spider-Man: Far From Home resembles Mysterio's initial introduction in Marvel Comics. Spider-Man: Far From Home perfectly translates to Mysterio's debut in Marvel Comics. The movie flawlessly captures the character's core essence and motivations and skillfully modernizes the narrative for today's audience. Mysterio's debut: In both the comic books and the movie, Mysterio is presented as an enigmatic character who asserts to possess extraordinary abilities. Although he seems to be a heroic figure, there is an air of doubt surrounding him. Mysterio presents Spider-Man with a formidable challenge - a public duel in both the comics and the film. Mysterio firmly believes that Spider-Man is a deceitful imposter; his ultimate goal is to unveil this truth to the entire world. Mysterio's utilization of illusions: Mysterio possesses exceptional skills in creating illusions, employing them to deceive and manipulate Spider-Man. Mysterio crafts intricate illusions in the comics or the film that instigate doubt within Spider-Man's perception of reality. Mysterio's genuine intentions: Despite his seemingly heroic facade, Mysterio is indeed a malevolent character. His ulterior motives are driven by self-interest, and he is unhesitant to employ deceit and manipulation to accomplish his objectives. This revelation is evident in both the comic books and the cinematic adaptation.

When is the Spider-Man No Way Home reaction coming? Technically, it should have been before you did Black Widow since you're doing them in release order. And we still have the Loki and Hawkeye Disney+ series

Hey Jax, great reaction. Thanks for pointing out Beck in the background observing Peter. Never noticed that (with multiple viewings) and it helps explain his Machiavellian machinations...

Without drastically spoiling why, you need to see the other 5 Spidey movies that came before Tom Holland got the role. And for similar reasons that I don't want to spoil you should watch the Xmen franchise pretty soon

About BARF: as Quentin said, Tony remade (and probably improved, considering who we are talking about) Beck's initial design. And so, while the initial project might have been Beck's, the newer project birthing from that one was likely all Tony's. Moreover, Beck worked for SI, most likely with a team, and he designed his BARF under the company name. So it was a property of the company and Tony didn't steal anything (saying that because some fans think that) by taking Beck's idea and improving on it to help others.

Things to think about going forward in future Marvel movie and series there are no avengers they were disbanded after endgame. And if you're wondering what happened to all the people who flipped back that were in planes or elevator Bruce put them all on the ground that's why it took so long for him to snap his fingers. You should also know no one that gives Natasha her credit for her sacrifice call Bruce credit for bringing everyone back.

I laughed so hard at Ned and Betty's travel romance. Years ago I went on a school trip and sat next to a girl I barely knew. By the end of the commute, about four hours, we were dating and "deeply in love." It lasted about a month which is pretty good for two 12-year-olds. 😉

I think an easy way to define the multiverse is a series of universes that do not share the same physical space. Like, you cannot get in a rocket ship and just fly from one universe to another. You have to use something like magic or advanced technology or maybe run super fast - whatever the case, in order to break the dimensional threshold separating the universes from each other. There are an infinite number of them and each one has different physics or different events with a random outcome occur differently than how they went in our own universe, etc. For example, one universe could be entirely 2D or another universe could have Iron Man as a villain or Cap could've been lefty, etc.

I go against Marvel in that I consider Endgame the final movie of Phase 3, and Far From Home to be the 1st of Phase 4. Mysterio introduces the multiverse concept and labels Peter's Earth as "616" (which it is in the comics). Love this movie, and loved your reaction, keep up the great work!

Thrilled for Jax to head into Phase 4 of the MCU! 🎉 🌌 I had seen Endgame in theaters and yet somehow never gotten to see Spidey:FFH! For reasons somehow and somehow not catching it on stream. Maybe 'cause premium then. Anyway, hope you catch some of the major awesome Disney Plus series! And further on to the feature films! Maybe get past a certain early phase film for the checklist ✔️, maybe* skip a certain one verdant series *for now* (I dunno), but definitely see the others I'm howling at the moon for reaction and possibly in a parts binge upload format if dedicated miniseries reaction is not yet in your wheelhouse(?), and maybe definitely catch some Marvel's Venom feature films for fun, AND MUST-SEE Animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film series! and good to go! (Heck maybe a Netflix series or two or three! DD, JJ1(2-3?), TP...And one Netflix miniseries TD.) All in all, I hope and am highly anticipating the latter MCU feature films proper journeys! 🎉 🌌 And wanna suggest as well, LotR trilogy and the Matrix trilogy! And Indiana Jones! And definitely Blade film series!

Like others here, I'm really appreciating how well you're paying attention and making connections. I watched this movie in the theater, as well as numerous reactions to it, and I never noticed that shot of Beck casing Peter before the attack in Venice! Good eye! I'm also impressed that you managed to keep asking the right questions, and remain suspicious of Mysterio for so long. In all promotional materials for this film, Beck was presented as possibly being a hero. Comics fans like myself didn't buy it entirely -- we all knew that Mysterio was a long-time nemesis of Spidey's -- but we also knew how the MCU likes to do things differently. For myself, I wasn't sure how it would turn out until Mysterio dropped the illusions and showed his true colours. It wasn't all of Tony's former workers who threw in with Beck and turned against Peter -- just the most disgruntled ones. Happy sure didn't join them, and I'm sure many others didn't, either. Although seeing that many former Stark employees ganging up on a kid and his classmates was awfully disheartening. Your wholehearted smiles at the romantic moments were so endearing. And I loved your laugh when Peter mis-identified the AC/DC song. Keep up the great work!
