Wolverine would no longer be a war veteran living through the ages, magneto could not be a holocaust survivor and befriend charles as a young man while having their powers then. There could be no apocalpse as far back as ancient egypt. You see what I am saying. All the characters of that world need a history longer than the events of the snap to FEEL like xmen so an alternate universe seems to me the only real way it can be done by keeping origins mostly the same.

could be both though..he could be using that to his advantage to gain trust but you have to explain somehow where the xmen and fantastic four will come from all of a sudden. Not even with cerebro could charles keep mutants hidden this long with all the technology and video recording capabilities at our finger tips at every moment. Eventually they would have been discovered. Also unless you retcon everyone's origins and have the xmen literally just appear now from radiation poisioning from the snap the xmen characters won't feel the same. So to keep the origins and core character attributes the same they cannot just sprout up now unless there is a whole other universe involved that they come from giving rise to that mysterio might just be telling the truth.

I think the "Next Iron Man" pitch is actually part of a bigger arc for Peter to leave the shadow of Iron Man and commit to his own identity. He's already protesting against the pitch here and tries to do be his own person with the vacation and pursuing MJ. Correlate with Endgame by how the branch of universe/reality will appear if you do the time heist. Returning the stone only for making those universe balanced from threat (have all infinity stones) but it doesn't fix or return certain event that already happen there. It mentioned that Mysterio comes from other dimension / universe. So I assume Marvel start playing Multiverse based on the branch occured during Endgame. Mysterio must have come from alter reality: 2014 (where Thanos dusted, Nebula killed) or 2013 (where Frigga met future Thor) or 2012 (where Loki escape with Teserract) or 1970 (where Peggy marry Caps) Interesting if they really do MULTIVERSE because it means that they can bring Iron Man or Black Widow back from other timeline/universe/dimension/reality like they bring 2014 Gamora to our canon universe. But who knows xD
