Throughout the comics and others movies (specifically the Raimi and MCU films) Peter’s quips were used sparingly. They were never usually used in such tense situations where lives were at stake, whereas in the Webb films (specifically TASM2) he never seemed to care unless it was personal, which doesn’t fit Spider-Man whatsoever. So it’s a form of bad writing regardless of how you look at it. It would slow him down, sure. But Spider-Man has showed time and time again that he values the lives of civilians more than he thinks it’s important to defeat the bad guy if they’re literally escaping. He stopped the train in Spider-Man 2, didn’t he? He and Venom saved a child from falling out of a window after Carnage threw them out rather than stay behind and attack Carnage. Peter didn’t care in this movie.

I was not a social kid, got bullied a lot, the only thing that would keep me going was reading Spider-man comics, knowing that a underdog could make such a difference... I can say he literally saved my life. Spider-man is a real hero out of the comics too, I have him tattooed on my arm now so he can always remember me to be strong in tough times. This is Spidey.

It doesn't make sense and kind of takes you out of the movie cause you're like "oh this is fake". Spider man with no moving eyes is much more believable in the real world. They put so much effort into it to make it look spidey like and even calculated how the wrinkles of the suit would be like and even picked the right color for the suit so that it would look bright. The music was amazing and way better than homecoming or FFH. They freaking got Hans Zimmer and even got Pharrel Williams who was super famous at 2014. Raimi's soundtrack is just an iconic theme. The actors were phenomenal. The romance was the best. The fight scenes were so smooth and awesome. His quips were on point. He actually said cocky, arrogant, and non funny quips just like in the comics, unlike ironman jr who just loves being awkward. He even goofs around like the comic spidey while he fights. He even throws a toilet roll and a book to the lizard during the library scene which spiderman would totally do. Tom is just slow, weak, whiny, dependent, stupid( Why would he use his web-shooters on hydroman). And I especially loved the darker tone of the movie. It showed that it wasn't all about happiness and rainbows and told us that we shouldn't lose hope. Everyone criticizes this only because they don't want to be sad or they want the hero to win only because they don't want to accept the reality. The Darker tone was great. It showed that spiderman wasnt all about happy endings just like in the comics. Toms spiderman was only made to entertain everyone who didn't exactly know who spiderman was and because of that now everyone has changed the view of how spiderman should be. The workers for a Tasm actually tried to make it their best and thats why the script didn't go so well. They wanted to add so many things at once that it just collapsed. Andrew and the directors actually liked spiderman from a young age and Andrew even read the comics when he was young and loved spiderman. He was so excited, unlike Tom. Tom only started learning about spiderman after he got his role. Andrew was actually a fan and him getting removed devastated him. MCU spiderman is pure garbage. Honestly I like how this scene portrays Spider-Man. He always tries to "look out for the little guy" while not being invincible and having normal problems like trying to get rid of a cold and having to shop for some medicine. I also love how he goes towards the flaming building instead of going to talk to Gwen, demonstrating how he puts his responsibility as Spider-Man before his life as Peter Parker. And the little bits of comedy are also a nice touch. Combine all of those elements together and you have a pretty damn good interpretation of Spider-Man. Now if only the rest of the film was like this.

As someone who grew up watching the Raimi films and enjoys Tom Holland’s portrayal as the character, nothing beats the ASM series in my opinion. Best suits, near-totally self reliant, and brings out the friendly neighborliness of Spider-Man the most. Not to mention the visuals of the series are dazzling as hell. He actually said cocky, arrogant, and non funny quips just like in the comics, unlike ironman jr who just loves being awkward. He even goofs around like the comic spidey while he fights. He even throws a toilet roll and a book to the lizard during the library scene which spiderman would totally do. Tom is just slow, weak, whiny, dependent, stupid( Why would he use his web-shooters on hydroman). And I especially loved the darker tone of the movie. It showed that it wasn't all about happiness and rainbows and told us that we shouldn't lose hope. Everyone criticizes this only because they don't want to be sad or they want the hero to win only because they don't want to accept the reality. The Darker tone was great. It showed that spiderman wasnt all about happy endings just like in the comics. Toms spiderman was only made to entertain everyone who didn't exactly know who spiderman was and because of that now everyone has changed the view of how spiderman should be. The workers for a Tasm actually tried to make it their best and thats why the script didn't go so well. They wanted to add so many things at once that it just collapsed. Andrew and the directors actually liked spiderman from a young age and Andrew even read the comics when he was young and loved spiderman. He was so excited, unlike Tom. Tom only started learning about spiderman after he got his role. Andrew was actually a fan and him getting removed devastated him. MCU spiderman is pure garbage. In the original Lee run, Peter was an outsider, but he rlly did it too himself, he thought he was too good for everyone, in fact the reason uncle Ben gets killed in the comics is due to Peter thinking he is too good to stop a petty criminal, he thinks he is so much better than everyone else, after uncle Ben gets killed, he becomes Spider-Man out of vengeance, but maturity takes a while for Peter to learn, Peter is still hotheaded, in one issue he knocks out flash in a boxing match to humiliate him, similar to how Andrew humiliates him in basketball and pushes him up against the locker. In one issue Peter even lashes out on everyone punching ppl as he’s sick of harassment. Peter is far from perfect, the whole idea of his character when lee was writing him, is that he doesn’t get a happy ending, in the comics when captain Stacy dies, Peter feels responsible, gwen hates Spider-Man for it, Peter tries to figure everything out, but gwen leaves to London, which is very similar to the tasm1 and 2 story line. When gwen dies, it’s Peters breaking point, in both the comics and the movies. He’s lost everything, but he has a big redemption, truth is Peter wasn’t always a nice guy before he was Spider-Man like the raimi films and the mcu films (which I love btw) truth is, he was a selfish asshole that thought he was too good to care about anyone else, so as he grows, as he becomes Spider-Man, he learns how to care for ppl, how to put others before him completely. He also was quite greedy early in his comic career, he tried to join the fantastic four but when he found out they don’t get paid he refused, andrews Peter is very accurate and I definitely recommend reading the first few issues of the amazing Spider-Man to gain a love for his portrayal, he’s portrayal of Spider-Man is also very similar to Macfarlanes work on Spider-Man.
