In the Amazing Spider-Man comic series, Peter Parker finds himself outside of time due to an altercation between Doctor Strange and Dormammu. This offers Peter the chance to change history by preventing the spider bite that gave him his powers. However, he hesitates, and history remains unchanged. Now stuck in time, Strange instructs Peter to find him by reliving his life's challenging moments. Peter confronts various villains and relives Gwen Stacy's tragic death. Along the way, he questions the toll of being Spider-Man. Eventually, he returns to the present, and Strange rewards him with a brief wish-granting opportunity. Peter chooses to spend it with Uncle Ben, who asks if he's happy with his life. Peter, despite the hardships, affirms his happiness before Ben fades away. The story ends with Peter returning to MJ.
