Terrific reaction! You got way more than most reactors and when you said the early animation felt off, and later found out Miles was at lower FPS at first (because he was still learning to be Spiderman and therefore not as smooth), I cheered. They really explored the possibilities of animation in this movie, in such an amazing, spectacular way.

Hey, Vero! Lifelong Spider-Man fan here, grew up near a comic book shop. There's some *really* great Spider-Man stories out there. However, I was in disbelief about this, but the PlayStation Spider-Man games from Insomniac studios and this series of movies are legitimately some of the best Spider-Man stories of all time! I can't recommend both series enough. If you are interested in the comics, though, i recommend some of the collected works, Omnibus, which you can find digitally or in most book stores! Just an FYI, this is a trilogy and the third movie is still in production. There have been a few delays, so no release date yet... That said, Miles has become a fan favorite in the comics. Initially they was some reluctance for a non Peter Spider-Man and some fans were pissed Peter died. But all of this occurred in the Ultimate universe in the books, not the main 616 universe. Miles has since found his way to the main universe. Donald Glover plays a version of Aaron Davis in Homecoming. He mentions to Peter that he has a nephew.

The Spider-verse films were revolutionary for the animation industry. This will be the best superhero trilogy, by far, and just one of the best trilogies in general. The films have incredible animation, performance, writing, storytelling, visuals, score and soundtrack, editing, etc. just incredible; I can't wait for the last film. 17:07 Wao congratulation! You are the first reactor that I’ve seen to put that together, and I have watched many reactions to this film. 46:27 Animator here: in old school hand drawn animation we almost always animate "on the twos" meaning the character or whatever moves every other frame. On the ones is much smoother but it's twice the work. Very few films are made like that, one of them being Akira. For intentionally jerky motion you could animate on the fours even, every fourth frame.

People overlook the fact that the robot was so special to Penny due to it being the last if he gave her before he died. Also Penny doesn't have the durability that a normal spider person generally has. Sometime in the next two years there is a Nicolas Cage Spider-Man noir live action series coming out. It will not be connected to the spider-verse Spider-Man noir Nicolas Cage is playing a completely different version stop the character.

This is probably the most brilliant Spiderman anything since the 1980s. The people that created this wanted to pay homage to the original Spiderman comics as well as recognition to Miles and his significance in the Spiderman publication history. One of the things most people miss is the number 42 keeps appearing in the story and in the artwork. This is a nod to Steve Ditko who was the artist on the first Spiderman comics. Ditko put 42 in the first issues to honor is home town favorite Brooklyn Dodges and its player that wore 42 Jackie Robinson the first black player in the major leagues. This was also to honor Miles who is the first black Spiderman character that comes from modern day Brooklyn. In comics Spiderman is the peoples hero. Most interpretations try to honor that aspect of the friendly neighborhood Spiderman. The frame rate was off in the graphics in the first of the movie. This was done on purpose. As Miles learned to be Spiderman more the frames were synced more to show he was the new Spiderman. Every aspect of art in this movie was on purpose.

As well the background colors associated with number 42 such as when Miles' spider sense tingled and blonde Peter Parker's spider sense tingled when they met each other...they're different colors. Each universe has its own particular look also....Noir, Spider pigs, Peni Parker, Gwen, all their universe have a unique look different from all the others.

This was pretty amazing. :) It's a cool remix of the stories. Hilarious and touching. And this animation style... I never got around to seeing this but have always wanted to. Animated TV shows are usually shot on 8 and 12 frames then doubled while big budget animated films were/are done on 24s. That's a cool little thing they did. I have to go listen to The Ramones' cover of the Spider-Man Theme now lol... And again, the Spider-Man painting looks great.

Great reaction, I can't recommend the sequel enough, it's even better imo - which is crazy because I already absolutely love this film! Fun Fact, Peni Parker is an alternative Spider-Man from an Evangelion inspired universe debuting in comic form 4 years before the film. She was created by musician and writer Gerard Way - as in My Chemical Romance lead singer (phenomenal band to see live), who created the Umbrella Academy comics/TV show. Also, Peter B. Parker was voiced by someone you've seen on this channel recently - Jake Johnson who played the techy guy in Jurassic World (the one who wore the Jurassic Park shirt and stayed behind when everyone else evacuated). He's best known for supporting roles in Comedies, and a lead role with Zoey Dechanel in the series New Girl. On your final point in your outro, there will be a third film. It was always a planned trilogy. Any unanswered questions you have from this film, will be answered in the next film. The third installment was slated for summer 2025 (Beyond the Spiderverse), but may be delayed slightly due to the writers strike which severely affected the production.

While I like the enthusiasm, as a long time comic book reader I can assure you that you will not read all, or even most, of the Marvel comics because that is impossible. Unless you are very rich and have nothing else in your life to do that's not going to happen. There are tens of thousands of comics published by Marvel and they are still making new comics monthly. However you may want ask comic book fans suggest their favorite stories for you to read. I'm not a Marvel comics fan so I don't have have a lot of suggestions there. I do know Miles in the comics in kind of like this, I don't think it involves the multiverse right away though. I do know the Peter Parker in that universe dies. That being said this is one of the best Spider-man movies. The movies, especially live action, don't follow the comics super closely, they mainly hit the highlights then follow their own narrative.

Movies run at 24 frames per second and so does CGI, but cel animation is often only 12 fps where they run cels for two consecutive frames. The opening animation also runs at 12 fps, which is why it feels odd/jerky. Once Miles has come to terms with being Spider-Man the animation runs at the full 24 fps.

The moments of "choppiness" during the first half of the movie was intentional. Normally, animated films are played at 24 FPS with each frame having its own unique animation. Whenever Miles was having an awkward moment or was struggling with the use of his powers, a single animation was being used for two consecutive frames. Everyone else around Miles was being animated using only the normal single animation-per-frame technique, making everyone else feel smooth and in control while accentuating Miles' awkwardness. It isn't until Miles' "leap-of-faith" moment that they begin to animate Miles to the regular one-to-one animation per frame technique to demonstrate that Miles has finally "come into his own". I hope that helps explain the oddness you were experiencing for the first half of the film. I love your reactions. Keep up the great work!
