Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most emotional MCU-Films so far. A lot of my praise goes to Willem Dafoe. He is truly a force of nature and in the middle of so many famous names, he managed to completely steal the scene every time he was on screen. That man can truly act. He shined brighter than I thought possible.

The man's 66 years old and he insisted doing almost all of the Goblin stunts, that means almost every shot in the apartment fight sequence was Willem Dafoe himself. That dedication really set the stage to make that whole fight sequence gritty, up-close, and personal.

This one hit me with the emotional sledgehammer, but it also really represented everything a good Spider-man movie needs. The self-sacrifice, the good heart, the will to do the right thing even if it hurts Peter the most. And it retropactively gave closure on the older Spider-man movies which cannot be overstated enough, is absolutely genius. This is the best Live Action Spider-man movie without a doubt for me.

I was almost certain that they were gonna interrupt May's "Great Responsibility" as a joke on how overused that line is. Heck, it was a frequent part of the script way back during Toby Maguire's days. But they do it justice by not backing down and saying the line at an important moment, knowing the significance that it still has to Spider-Man.

@@rckblzr yeah. I was really hoping to see their graves together, too. But I've seen a theory that the implied death in civil war (they say something like "May's been through a lot") might actually refer to a messy divorce where May got sole custody of Peter. Some fans think Ben might show up alive and well in a future movie.

So I'll just say, as someone who also got an early screening to No Way Home, I loved this so much. Especially the villain scenes. As hyped up as I was for Alfred Molina's return as Doc Oak, Willem Dafoe absolutely knocked it out of the park as Green Goblin. Nearly 20 years since the first Raimi film, this man hasn't lost a sinister step in his performance and... yeah he steals just about every scene.

Willem and Alfred have an incredible screen presence, that no-one has come close to reaching yet. Maybe Brolin as Thanos, and Hiddleston is definitely the MCU's prime contender. I honestly love crossovers that don't have to be part of some end of the world storyline. Ones where different characters from different franchises can just vibe and chat. Things like A Muppet Family Christmas, House of Mouse, Once Upon a Studio, those classic bumpers on Cartoon Network, or those newer bumpers on Disney Channel and XD like Chibiverse and Broken Karaoke. Moments that feel like your favorite characters are bonding with each other. One thing I love about the Mickey and Bugs scene in Roger Rabbit is that it implies the two, in spite of their corporations being rivals, are friends with each other and hang out and play tricks on people when they're not working. It's like introducing two of your friends from different backgrounds that you think still have a lot in common together and see if they'll become friends too. And even when we are doing high staked crossovers, like the Avengers movies, my favorite moments are when the characters are taking the time to work off of each other. There's a reason why the bar scene in Ultron is so iconic. And the "kick names, take ass" scene. So I love how, in spite of this film's stakes, they still take the time to have these adorable scenes of these three iconic Spider-Men talk. And the use of improv actually makes it even more charming for me, because it feels more personal. Like this isn't just the characters talking, but the actors too. It's honestly my favorite part of the film as well.

As someone who saw this in a cinema at maximum capacity, it is for sure the best way to see it. Unfortunately you get a couple of teenagers who are on their phones and/or talking the whole way through but that's all worth it for the crowd reactions. There were a couple of things that were a bit off... for example, electro didn't know that Peter Parker was Spider-man, but still was pulled through - so that was a bit weird. It could be argued that this Electro and the one from TASM 2 were not the same ones. The Lizard hanging out in truck was more of a funny moment, kinda like a "there's no room for the Hulk" situation, but it wasn't explained. Another spoiler - I wish Charlie Cox HAD shown up at the police station first then transitioned to the living room scene as the connection to HOW he became their lawyer wasn't explained, so there's another minor nitpick. I just wish he'd been used a bit more than the one scene. Still, all in all, everything great about the movie overshadowed those minor gripe moments.

Tom Holland gets a lot of unnecessary shit thrown his way, by one of two groups. 1. Who claim to read comic books, but they haven't picked one up since they were 4. 2. People who have a hard time accepting change. Y'know the ones. The ones who cry on social media when a character is played by someone else after many years; and they haven't figured out how to wash the manbaby tears from their nostalgia goggles. Holland is vicious as Spider-Man when the gloves are off. I was convinced he was ready to kill... *Him* in the finale.

I think of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in this sense. What would Spider-Man be like if he didn't have his "Uncle Ben moment" and was given the keys to the castle (being in the Avengers) from the start? He is still a good person who's heart is in the right place, but he doesn't understand the depths of his responsibilities and looks to others for motivation. That's what 'No Way Home' changed for the character and brought him to the same place where Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men currently are. In other words, this is the film where he truly became Spider "Man".

I really feel like they have listened to some of the thing people dislike in the previous Tom movie, like Tom having it easy or Aunt May don't have much to do. Here the emotional part toward the end really make me feel for the guy. Then there are certain dialogues scene between certain characters that is so fun and great. One of my few gripes though was that one important part of the plot suddenly rely on one side character having a really weird buff, which logically shouldn't make sense.

@@thewatcher6969 the question is will he learn from it? After giving Mysterio the glasses after he tricked him into thinking he was good. He should have learnt to stop trusting people like that and to stop being so gullible. So in no way home he lets a bunch of criminals and murderers into the apartment while aunt may was there and let's them use stark tech which then results in aunt may being killed which should lead to him making sure mj and Ned are safe as he shouldn't let vulnerable civilians be in danger so after that he decides to let Ned and mj join him on his dangerous adventure and puts them in serious harm multiple times. He constantly put civilians in danger throughout the entire film and a lot of them ended up dying including aunt may, when will he actually learn? It's like he completely forgot aunt may died. It's great he might now be the traditional Spiderman but will he actually act like it or will he continue to be extremely dumb and refuse to learn? The writing is a mess in these Spiderman movies, they basically restarted the character to give us traditional Spiderman (hopefully) but I'm worried that he'll still be a mess.

@@luke8290 I would like to add that Aunt May was the one who made Peter go along with helping the villians out, then not admitting it was her fault for changing Peter's mind of sending them home earlier in the film. Instead the writers decided to throw in the "with great power" line for her. Her death also felt a bit random. Also, one of the problems with this verison of Spiderman is that he can't carry his film by himself. Now that they basically restarted him, the writers have to show us how this Spiderman could handle doing things by himself (with memories of his past experiences for him to learn from).

This movie made me cry twice, managed to make me cheer and clap, made the most excited expression cross my face twice (I smiled so damn big, mouth wide open), and made me love Willem Dafoe all the more. It's the first movie that my dad and I have ever sincerely considered going back to the theater to watch again, literally as we were heading for the car to leave. My dad and I discussed it the whole way home, and for two or so hours at home, then after my brother got home from seeing it, he called me, and we talked about it for a while, and then discussed it AGAIN with his wife before our shift at work today. For all the times we talk about the whole thing about DCEU rushing back when it started up, Avengers was the prime example of what happens when you take your time to worldbuild and get to the big climax. While I can’t claim to have seen this one yet, going off reviews, this could very well be that second example of having a big payoff to years of building up the world Spider-Man find himself in. I don’t know what happens, but part of me wonders if they really did go down the path of “One More Day,” but took a route to vastly improve on it rather than having it come off as Spider-Man at his literal worst. Guess we’ll find out when the film launches, but until we get there, the overall positive reviews have certainly helped to add another W to the MCU’s portfolio.

Doug, The Lizard had to stay in the truck because the neighbors in the building would've freaked out seeing a giant evil lizard roaming around the building so of course he would have to stay in the truck. I love ya Doug but that's just common sense

Worth the wait? Hell yes! Better than into the spider-verse? A very close second. Really enjoyed it and it's the most Spider-Man live action we've had. No even if it is a touch one more day

Though I do roll my eyes at improv scenes that go on waaaaay too long, this movie has one that I couldn't get enough of. I was thankful that it happened and that it went on as long as it did. The fact that it was happening at all was magical.

I'm happy that Spidey didn't choose to this film to erase people's memory of his secret identity by... selling his soul to the Devil (like in the comic books), lol! Note: Yes, the same Devil that Ghost Rider sold his own soul!
