This works for Horizon Forbidden west too, if anyone's wondering (I used dualsense for it) Another thing to keep in mind, even if the external controller you've connected is not working, don't worry just simply follow the steps and it'll work.

Thanks to your channel I got to know my Steam Deck wonderfully and I enjoy it very much. I didn't have a controller with the Sekiro game and with your help I now have it working. Great. Would like to add this: I don't have a BlueTooth controller, but I did have a wireless Xbox 360 controller with receiver for my PC. That also worked immediately with my Pi4, so I also tried it with the SteamDeck and it worked immediately. I didn't know that I could use this old Xbox controller on my SteamDeck. Hi, I managed yesterday it to work by typing steam -vgui on konsole in desktop mode 1 - close steam 2 - type steam -vgui on konsole and hit A button, then steam should open 3 - on steam select big picture - it will open legacy big picture, from there you can force off steam input After that I can only launch the game normally in game mode or desktop and it recognizes the steam deck controller Credits for this method on some thread of reddit haha

While playing in desktop mode if i press left joystick accidentally the keypad opens up. I read in reddit that it need to be fixed in controller settings in steam app for pc but in steam deck the controller settings are different. Do you have any idea how to avoid that in the controller settings?

After you disable steam input, restart steam deck for it to kick in. Try that.

Hi I followed your steps as far as I can tell when trying to get miles morales to run, unfortunately when I turn off my PS4 controller, the controls only work for about 1 or 2 seconds and then they stop working again. Has this happened to anyone else?

Did it automatically connect to your Bluetooth controller again? Maybe check in the controller settings.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG No, when I launch the game now if I turn on my bluetooth controller the bluetooth controller works and when I turn it off the steam deck controls work for about 2 seconds. The controller does not turn back on again :/ Very frustrating as the first time I tried it I thought "Oh wow! It actually worked!" and that feeling only lasted for 2 seconds haha. When I check the controller settings for my bluetooth controller it still says "Enable Steam Input". Maybe I just have to play using my PS4 controller while the steam deck is docked :(

Helo, i need help with miles morales, and encounter loading screen freeze issue. This is how, first time load works, and i even can play normally. But if i save, exit the game and the try to play again, it will freeze at loading screen. Any help would be appreciated

@@GrownUpGamingGUG unfortunately only once per fresh install. On game mode, if i clear proton files, and start over, it will load pass the loading screen. And i can play from the beginning. But after a save i exit the game and try to open the game. It will freeze at loading screen. Already tried on lutris and launch from desktop mode, still no luck

@@GrownUpGamingGUG Honestly not sure how to even answer your question. I followed your guide that you had in your video. I have tried doing it over 3 different times and still not getting anywhere. My touch screen works on the game but past that, the controller portion of the steam deck doesnt work.

Can you disable steam input? Reset the game after that. Then disconnect the Bluetooth controller. You did all that?

@@GrownUpGamingGUG yes. Was able to do that after trying multiple times and restarting the game multiple times. I also restarted my deck a few times in various trials. Not sure how to proceed.

Quick question do you know where the safe file is because usually I use Lutris and the wine folder for my saves but since I added this one to steam and it got recognized as an official game idk where the save file is

Do you have protontricks? Open it and there is a number next to the name of the game. That number is the folder in compatdata where the game files are.

Every game is different. For spiderman remastered it should be C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\Roaming\Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered\[Folder with 17-digit number].
