Spider-Man (PS1) - How to Catch Venom (Hard)

In Spider-Man on the Playstation 1 (PSX/PS1) you have to Chase Venom and try to Catch Venom. If you catch Venom, you'll then be able to fight him in the next mission, but, because of a bug, Spider-Man will climb the wall instead of web swinging to chase Venom. This video will teach you how to get through that.
This bug may be due to emulating this game on ePSXe, but some people have said it's happened to their home versions. This bug may also appear in the Dreamcast (DC) version.

If you don't swing left and you swing too far forward you will fail the mission and be unable to catch Venom. Make sure you run left and just swing. Subscribe ➤ bit.ly/2Qmz7dD

That glitch happens because the game is running at high fps, you have to limit it to 20/25 fps for the game to run properly.

This will go on forever. I have spent uncountable minutes, maybe hours, battling this glitch. Endless time chasing venom, like my soul chases the hope of playing through the rest of this game. Time itself has become illusionary to me. I feel the seconds pass but never the hour. I was, am, and forever will be trapped in this moment. This will go on forever. The bug taunts me. I can only separate my perceptions of time as moments before or after the bug. Roughly 3 attempts to get into the building, where I'm left to wait, like a child, as the same cutscene I've seen a hundred times plays once more, and yet the tension only grows stronger each time. Then the moment strikes, and if I don't counter swiftly, it'll be back to the start. Another attempt wasted. Not even learning the next part of the chase. Nothing gained but the humiliation of having to begin again. This will go in forever. What brought me this torture? I wished for nostalgia, I built a machine and toiled over software to realise my dream. What was my crime? Why did my actions beget such suffering? I did not think it a sin to want to relive my childhood memories, lest they be drowned from my mind by time. But now time is all I have. This will go on forever.

Played this level so many times. U dont even have to chase venom lol. If u go to the right spots he will actually come closer to u. Just memorize some of the path

Thanks, i started playing this game after a very very long time, but I don't have a PS1 so I'm using an emulator, and on the hard mode this glitch was happening, I thought it was due to emulation.

It's caused due to framerate. When I played this game on 25 fps this glitch never happened to me. But I when I started playing on 30 fps the glitch always seems to occur.

^ this use to happen to me all the time on the pc version (when I beat the whole game for the first time around 2010) I somehow fixed it by mashing space bar as fast as I could during the cutscene previous

Is this an emulator only bug? In the original PS1 hardware, Spidey follows the scripted path and you can even see him running behind Venom through the windows. Would this bug also occur on the Dreamcast emulator?

@@AdamAddict On PC you can use dgvoodoo or any frame limiter to limit the framerate to 20 FPS to fix the Venom Chase. This fix can also be used for Mysterio's boss fight, as his second phase lasers would glitch and stun lock the player

On PC you have to lower your frame rate, because the game bugs out a lot if you have a high frame rate

@@geraldiscool420 20 FPS cap can also be used to fix Mysterio's boss fight. On the second phase, Mysterio's lasers would spaz out on any framerate higher than 20 FPS, and the lasers could stun lock the player
