It’s the voice crack when he says “I don’t know what to do.” Breaks me every time. It’s such a gut punch because Spider-Man’s strong, courageous, and always having a plan. In this scene you can see him so vulnerable and helpless. Such great writing and acting.

Aunt may dying is something that this game had the guts to do when the comics haven’t, to the point were Peter sold his marriage (with M.J with out her knowing) to the Mephisto (the devil) to safe her even though she was ready and excited to see uncle Ben again, I will always give this game its props for having done this.

The ending to this game is fantastic. I can't believe it's been five years already! My jaw absolutely dropped to the floor the first time. It was pretty ballsy to kill off a beloved character like Aunt May in a mainstream Spider-Man story. I kinda wonder if Tom Holland and the writers of No Way Home played this game, saw this heartbreaking ending and decided to put it in the movie... I wonder sometimes...

They borrowed a lot from the Miles Morales story and added them to the MCU Parker story, including an Asian best friend and young/sexy authority figure. Since the games include Miles Morales, it's possible that they considered it for the movie.

The voice actors and mo-cap for these games are just excellent. Story telling in games have just been amazing during recent years. There’s now in the newer games a “story” mode(easy) for people like them who want to focus just on the story and less gameplay, so everyone can enjoy these games no matter what level. I’ve played this game so many times and that part with May still hits hard. Every Spider-Man always has to make this decision…now Miles in the movies has to. The changes they made for Harry and Norman’s situation is something new and looking forward to how that goes! Excited for you guys to see the DLCs and Miles’s game before the new game comes out 😊

The ending with May NEVER fails to make me cry. I lost my mom to cancer complications only 3 years before this game came out. So when Peter is at her bedside, completely powerless to do anything to save her, I remembered exactly how that felt like. And my mom (who was a nurse) would’ve made the exact same choice as May, no matter how much she was suffering. As for Otto, Game Director Bryan Intihar said that it was possible Otto knew Peter was Spider-Man not just before he made the arms, but even before he saw Peter with the suit! Which makes even more of a betrayal. And after seeing how Norman Osborne did all of this, not for money and fame, but to save his son, it actually makes him a far more empathetic man than he ever was in the movies or animated shows. He lost his wife to a genetic disease, he WAS NOT going to let the same thing happen to his son. As for the symbiote attached to Harry, this is the reason why even though the game has dozens of alternate suits, not one of them was the famous black symbiote suit. The directors said that THAT suit is so important to the legacy of Spider-Man that it deserved to be more than a suit that could be unlocked in game.
@ObsidianShinobi801

The symbolism as he cries over aunt may as spiderman…that shot meant something. Capturing the responsibility of spiderman. The hard choices he has had to make…spiderman stories are always stories tht dive deep into choice and consequences. And that being spiderman is both a blessing and a curse…just as much bad can happen as goof. And as much as Peter has reason to not where that suit and mask, he has just as much reason to, so many other ppl in new york city depend on him too. He tried as best as he could….but spiderman is still human, he pursued his responsibilities the best he could. Uncle Ben would be proud…

I think it's okay visually in comparison to other suits but forcing a suit on you that barely has any lore relevance other than (i got beat, let me whip something up) with a suit power that isn't even that good wasn't the best idea personally. I guess they didn't wanna edit the cutscene 45 times for each suit bc of Otto damaging it, which I get, but I feel like the fans would've enjoyed the scenes better if we could pick our own suit for the ending, or maybe it couldve been forced for just the first playthrough and then on NG+ you can pick any suit.

9:33 That's actually like a prototype Green Goblin helmet! If you look up to the top left corner when MJ wears it, you can see the glider linking up to it, and on the blueprint, it says ASM 14 Prototype. The ASM 14 is a reference to Amazing Spider-Man #14 from 1964, which is the first appearance of the Green Goblin!

Aunt May's death was handled so well. With Uncle Ben, Peter made a mistake that cost him his father-figure, and it served as a lesson that became the foundation of everything that he stands for. With Aunt May, he had a choice. Save his only remaining family or countless others. I honestly feel like what he learned from Ben's death is what gave him the strength of character to make the harder choice. Saving May at the expense of the city would've betrayed everything Ben taught him and everything Spider-man stands for, yet it has to hurt like hell to be right there in that moment and still make that sacrifice. *This* is why Spider-man is Marvel's most beloved hero. And, I'm sorry to anyone who like the MCU Spider-man, but this was so much better than May's death in No Way Home. There, all they did was rehash Ben's death, after only vaguely even acknowledging one of the most important characters in Spider-man's mythos for 3 movies, just so they could do a similar scene, but with May this time. Even her dying words were just a repeat of Ben's. This was acknowledgment of all her nephew was, her pride in his actions, and the confidence he would do the right thing even at the cost of *her* life.

As far as why Venom is in that tank, theres a run of Spiderman Comics that started in the early 2000s called Ultimate Spider-man. It was part of the "Ultimate" line of comics that were an updated, modernized, and at times gritty take on the Marvel universe. It worked for some characters better than others and Spider-Man was the character that take worked best for. In the Ultimate Spider-man storyline Venom was not an alien symbiote. It was a curative bath designed by Richard Parker (Spider-Man's dad) and Edward Brock Sr. It was designed to cure cancer but it gained its own sentience and became a parasitic being that fed on humans for survival. I suspect thats the route these spider-man games are taking with Venom.

@manvirshergill1739
@manvirshergill1739 Жыл бұрын
I know right, I also think regarding GR-27 and why it was written next to Martin Li's name in that lab that MJ was in... So Norman was working on GR-27 since Martin Li was a kid but at that time it unfortunately gave him his negative powers which didn't cure him in the way it should have, Norman then carried on working on it trying to perfect it so it could cure genetic diseases then some years later his wife Emily got sick and unfortunately died because again GR-27 wasn't a proper cure and then afterwards it had a new name (Devil's breath) because now it's a bio-weapon, obviously then Otto basically destroys any hope for Norman of making a cure by releasing it upon the world to show what Norman had made and what he done to Li and now Harry is currently in a tank being kept alive and stable by the symbiote until Norman finds a proper cure for him. That's what I got.

The painful memory of Martin Li is definitely a tragic story that the developers put together, and Stephen Oyoung nails it. From the video the parents were there for consultation and not to test the early version of Devil's Breathe, and Otto thought that it was a consultation, but Norman decided to test it anyway given that he was desperate to save Emily back then, and that childhood trauma that Martin experienced was why Otto left Oscorp, and it explains the letter Martin sent to Otto, that was in the hideout in Times Square, medication that Otto could provide for him to remedy his negative condition. As for Harry, well it seems that from what I gather in the next Spider-Man game's trailers the symbiote has stopped his sickness, not cured but froze it that the illness can't progress further, the Venom symbiote is being used as a shield for his sickness, but we know it'll be used as a sword fighting others in the next game. Plus I'd recommend the dlc cutscenes The City That Never Sleeps saga, starting with the return of Black Cat and the rise of a Maggia turf war (pronounced mah-jee-uh)

The game has multiple difficulty settings. The developers spent a lot of time making sure anyone could play the gane.

As tragic as Aunt May dying but it reflects on when spiderman wins peter parker loses, the good spiderman does to end up losing as Peter Parker which is quite like a Shakespearean tragedy

I better not see Miles loose his father to save his universe in Beyond the spider-verse. I would be so mad and angry.
