It was that and the sales for Fantastic Four were at a All Time Low, I can't remember the guy who runs the entire comic portion of Marvel but he wanted the Fantastic Four to be shut down because of Fox owned the movie rights and he wanted the least popular creators on X-Men. You remember that portion of time when they try to push the Inhumans? Same guy did that

I'm pretty certain Marvel publicly said that a few years ago when they started shrilling the Inhumans. I use to like them but I honestly can't say the same now due to how they acted with the Terrigen Mists killing Mutants. Death threats are never ok. Never. But that being said, a few extreme instances still don't give him the excuse to act the way he's acted towards his fanbase on social media over the years, especially since the majority of the fans he's berated and acted like a petulant child towards have never issued a threat against him once. And plus, you should also consider this: he deliberately likes to antagonize fans and get them all riled up (he's admitted as much) but then when he actually does get the intended response, he starts complaining about how unfair everybody is to him and how screwed up the fan community is and all that noise.

@@pillar81 There must be 2 different Dan Slotts then, because the one I'm familiar with is as far from decent as you can possibly get. It goes way beyond the way he responds to certain people on Twitter, he's actively sought out people to troll and argue with online. He claims he can take criticism and yet he writes off anybody who's even slightly critical of his work as being an illegitimate source that merely has it out for him (which ironically is very similar behavior to a certain President he seems to despise so much.) He's one of the most juvenile and obnoxious people to ever work in the industry. And on top of all that, he's a huge SJW.

I think that I liked Saban era Marvel more when I was 10 than I like it since then (the same goes for McNuggets). Marvel animation got far better writing and acting later on, and it's like that streaming advertisement with the kid talking about bacon. Watered down for mass comprehension, sometimes even the greatest in-book stories lost so much substance when turned into a Saturday morning cartoon.

I always thought Slott was the writer who had some really great ideas but he sucked at executing them. I think Slott is destined to be the Spiderman editor and maybe even the EIC of Marvel one day. He is a great idea guy and bigger picture guy but outside of Superior Spiderman which I thought was flawless he really could have done so much better considering the amount of time he got to write the book. By the time he left people were begging for it.

Dan Slott is the writer that (imo) gets Spider Man more than any other. You can just feel his love for Spidey coming through on every page, and I'm of the opinion that he is the best writer to touch the character since the silver age. Slott's run is what got me to start reading Spider Man again as an adult after running away when I was a kid due to the clone saga (if you don't know it, don't look it up. it's the worst).
