This honestly would be interesting to think about. Like maybe that’s why his suit looks a bit different and more homemade in some areas in NWH, like the symbol, web patterns and the lenses. Cause those 3 suits were all damaged in his 3 movies, so he probably decided to sew his previously damaged suit from scratch and that’s why it looks the way it does.

My only issue with the homemade suit in Spider-Man is that it looks nothing like the normal Spider-Man costume. There is no webs on it, aside from the gloves, and Peter had no idea Tony was making him his own suit, meaning he had no input on how the costume should look. The traditional "Spider-Man" look he has, even his new homemade suit in the end of No Way Home, originates from a design he didn't even come up with. Had his homemade suit just had webs on the mask, gloves, and socks, similar to the 60's cartoon, and had the webs looked messy, it'd make total sense for Tony to refine the old design and applied it to the new suit, but instead, Spider-Man's traditional look wasn't even made by him in the MCU.

@nofacedgoldfish621629 күн бұрын
@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 I wouldn't go that far. The Stark suit being made by Tony wasn't necessarily the problem, it's that the concept of the Stark Suit's design was made by Tony, while being a techy version of Spider-Man's main look. The homemade suit should have looked like a cheap version of the traditional costume, similar to Captain America's stage uniform or Scarlet Witch's Halloween costume, and Tony being like "Dang, I see your vision, let me help you with that," or have both Tony and Peter working on the Stark suit, as Pete is also smart enough to make the suit but can't due to resources being expensive.

This is why I would've loved a live-action Spider-Man TV series. With a more stretched out story, they could focus on finer details like how Peter manages to make his suit on such a low budget. They could even show the evolution of its design. In the first season he'd start out with scrappy thrift store clothes before progressing to a hand-sewn comic-accurate costume. But in later seasons as he gains experience from each villain, we'd see him upgrade to spandex for flexibility, kevlar for protection, high-tech gadgets, eye lenses. A proper zero to hero journey.
@PsychoMoFoGaming29 күн бұрын
Eh, spiderman was always better when he wasnt batman and had 50 gadgets stored up his ass. Also, hot take but the lense eyes are dumb. Chronically spidermans eyes dont move, they are static lenses. They are meant to not only hide his identity but also to invoke fear and hide his emotions during a fight. The only reason why his eyes move in the comics is so that the artist can convey emotion. When the lenses move to match his emotions, it completely negates a whole 2/3rds of the purpose because now it also removes the fear factor. I hate how the MCU has retroactively redefined aspects of spiderman to the general audience in ways that worsen or lessen the character. Besides that a show 100% fits spiderman better than a movie. The depths of peter, the nuances of his relationships, and struggles are far to grand to fit in three 2hour movies. He is definitly a character who would greatly benifit from long form storytelling. And i completely agree that seeing an evolution of his suit over time would make for excellent symbolism and storytelling.

@TyrantJaeger well that ignores literally nearly 60 years of comic history in which spiderman is intentionally trying to terrify crooks, intentionally drawn imposing panels, threatening to break bones....the damn ps4 spiderman game shows how he intimidates using body language. Criminals may not be terrified by him, but they are afraid of him and the mask helps portray that. Its been shown across media the mask being used imposingly. He even says so in a comic i use to own from the late 80s early 90s that a part of the reason for his eyes being the way they are on the mask is to be intimidating. You are talking...for some damned unknown reason... about his personality, when i was talking about the mask design. Get on the same page dog.

On some level, I agree. But homemade doesn't need to mean "thrown together" either. Remember that Peter is a genius. That assumption that everyone seems to have when it comes to fictional characters that "they're a genius, so they should be able to make/do anything" is stupid. Being a genius in one thing doesn't always directly translate to another thing. It's like when people think Bruce Wayne could just make literally anything. I don't want to see Batman cook up some world-destroying death star cannon in his Batcave, he has Lucius Fox to help with that. Batman is mainly a strategic/detective genius. "Spider-Man: The Ultimate Guide" by Tom DeFalco has an entry underneath a section titled "COSTUMES" that reads, "IF CLOTHES make the man, a distinctive costume is a definitive must for a buddying young super hero. Of course, Peter Parker didn't intend to be a crime fighter when he first gained his amazing powers-he wanted to go into show business, and he needed an exciting look to match his stage act. Peter learned that Midtown High's dance class was throwing out some old bodysuits. Slipping into the school after dark, he found one that fit him, took it to the art room, and spent a few hours silk-screening a web pattern on the shirt. He also made a skintight pair of gloves and boots, and with some one-way mirrors he found in the drama class's old prop box, he now had a mask. His first spider-costume was finally ready."

Tecnically, no live action spiderman has made their "main" suit on their own, they've all gotten help from other people. Tobey got his suits from the wrestling costume tailor, Andrew just stiched a lot of ice skating spandex suits that he bought together and then he got Gwen's suit, and Tom got Stark tech to help him (even his final suit seems to be mostly made from the scarps of other suits he previously had).
@GiHHlv16 күн бұрын
Tom's final suit is also the only one he actually MADE by himself to any extent. The first homemade suit isn't made, it's a sleeveless red jacket thrown over a long sleeved blue jacket, with blue pants, likely store bought gloves, a boot, goggles, and a mask. it's likely that suit isn't even sewn, it's worn by being put piece by piece like a uniform. The only things taht MIGHT be together are the mask and goggles, and the only thing he actually altered about the clothes is drawing a "spider" (looks more like a bug but eh) obviously all suits after that are made by stark or stark's technology, and then the suit in the final film is the only one he actually sews by himself.

The Andrew Garfield film could have been a solid adaptation of that plot line if they hadn’t sped through Uncle Ben and the whole with Great Power comes great responsibility deal. But I’m also guessing they decided not to go that route so they wouldn’t be compared to the Og Raimi films… NGL I really miss the wrestling spidey story

I feel like it *should* look homemade, but still high quality- not quite to the degree of Raimi or TASM2 but close. Like cosplaying is a thing and they make some WILD stuff, sometimes with a very limited budget, so I could see Peter looking up some cosplay tutorials for ideas on how to get his suit to look good on the cheap. I also think he should be allowed to have that cool Raimi/TASM2 suit after spending a movie or two in the homemade one just to illustrate that he's been getting better at making them, like after getting his suits torn up so often it would only make sense for him to try new materials and techniques whenever an old suit is too shredded to just repair. So first movie would be basic but competently home made, second would be largely the same but a bit nicer and cleaner, and third movie would go full high quality. Like show the suit's journey, you know?

He thought that being a hero was too hard so he stopped in the world got worse because Spider-Man wasn’t in the world if you watch one of the episodes of the ultimate Spider-Man and I will take this with a grain of salt cause I don’t know if this is a real comic or not nightmare makes a return and tries to ruin Spider-Man’s life and shows them what it could’ve been kind of like a Ebeneezer Scrooge type Christmas route that’s where that show went. It was a Christmas special I believe but I believe that universe really did exist in the comics. At least that’s what I heard so that’s why I’m saying take this with a grain of salt but yeah Peter Parker is literally a genius. He’s just so focused on being a hero. His full potential and intellect is not being achieved to it’s full potential just letting you know so basically Peter Parker is a person that can practice about anything. He does a prototype first then he does. The official mainstream version is just like a scientist does with inventions if you didn’t know scientist make prototypes before the real thing then they go onto the mainstream product the completed and perfected product just letting you know

In a three versions, Peter’s suit went through an evolution. To y wore his first version to the wrestling match and in pursuit of Uncle Ben’s alleged k*ller. But he eventually was able to make the final version which is admittedly very professional looking, but being a genius, I’m sure he could figure out how to make something like that. Same for TASM; it went from a ski mask and street clothes to him ordering spandex, etc. and given the more modernistic atmosphere of his universe, his TASM 2 suit isn’t too outrageous, especially considering he’s always tinkering with various technologies and chemicals. And you addressed Holland fairly well I’d say.

Honestly since day one all the way back when I was a kid I never liked the Rami suit because it never felt like something a person could make at home let alone someone broke like Peter. Hell somewhat ironically the suit provided by Stark felt more like it could be homemade than the Rami suit.

It'd hoenstly be nice to get a comic accurate "homemade suit" and i don't mean like a scrappy classic. I'm talkin about the White Shirt, jeans and mask he wore in AF before getting the classic. Maybe have him just wear it for a couple fights before scrounging up the money to stitch together the Classic suit

People say that the suit SHOULD look homemade because it is and realistic, but you know what isn’t realistic, peter being able to build web shooters and stick on walls on the first place, not to mention peter is a genius and a nerd of course he wouldn’t want his suit to look crappy, I think the No Way Home ending suit is the definitive peter parker suit, it doesn’t look too fancy like tobey maquire suit, but it looks good enough like peter parker made it

What about the 1977 series? That kept the homemade look, and my only issue is the mask being part of the outfit.

Personally I want the studios to push the pg13 go street and real with Peter not have him understand his powers fully , just have him havespider sense but no one else know he has it , have him be in bloody and brutal fights and have him be violent and forceful with his punches , have the air shockwave like snyder superman when he fights , have it be unrealistic , have peters face swollen when he gets punched by strong people , exactly how Gabrielle dell Otto paints him the modern equivalent of what the 80s Spider-Man was , muscular and man like strong spider man , cool action hero warrior doesn’t back down. Far better than the one that the mcu used , like how Tobey was in the first film as spiderman

ik people are bringing up novelizations & comics for both tobey and andrew on how they made their suits, and from an artistic standpoint (i make stuff myself) i have plausible ideas how both especially tobey made his himself i can go into. again the novelizations are not confirmed canons to what we see in-movie so the dutchman's brother making him a suit wont count or gwen making andrew's 2nd suit for him
@qualitybait995715 күн бұрын
I agree with the overall sentiment but I don't think the Sam Raimi and TASM suits are out of the realm of possibility for Peter to have made himself. If cosplayers can do it themselves, so can he. In addition to being an actual genius, he has a lot of community ties and he could probably make it cheaper, quicker, and better.

Well, I get where you are coming from tbh. HOWEVER, you can't underestimate creative ability and will/passion bruh. The Batman suit of my profile pic... I made it by hand. Right down to sculpting, molding and casting the cowl. Something like Tobie's suit would have been much easier.

@eryvac0074 And people are not as smart as Peter. Creating his own web is fine but making a good suit is too far fetched ?
@eryvac00749 күн бұрын
@KOBAYE_24 You need to remember he gets beaten up and gets his suit damaged constantly. The Web fluid is just a concoction, but if that suit tears, he needs to get the materials and re-lace it all in the same pattern. All the movie suits look immaculate, like he just fully makes a new one if another gets damaged. That's just distracting.
@KOBAYE_249 күн бұрын
@eryvac0074 TASM suit gets damaged and still is throughout the movie. It's not about the quality of the suit, it's about how the filmmakers make it more believable by letting it damaged

So you want Spider-Man with a red bag over his head and a random red shirt with the blue pants and red gloves?
@saifrashid332526 күн бұрын
Realism in a story is an assisting factor of suspending the disbelief, it's not a pre-requisite. Simply put, the amount of real-ness in a story does not equal excellence of the story. And also the world of the stories have rules and physics of their own, they are not supposed to be identical to reality. Too much realism can destroy the 'what if' nature that's integral to stories. Spider-Man isn't even a realistic concept, he's a stylized superhero. Real is not equal to good.

Imo Andrews first suit looks the least makable at home. The materials he used and the way its sewn is clearly professional. he also literally screen prints the suit which is doable but still like, for his second suit? he has no job, and hes screen printing at home, i like the idea of the comics where he used things from his school to make it, like id buy midtown having a screen printing set up, but peter shows no other interest in owning such equipment, so why does he?
