It was surprisingly common for superhero tie-ins. All of the MCU phase 1 games had main characters voicing their video game counterparts with Tom Hiddleston, Robert Downey Jr. (though he did not return for the sequel), Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, and even Edward Norton of all people.

This video gives off the aroma of the 70-year old black grandma Dunkey era, which, since More Dunkey More Problems' debut, has been a lot less prominent. Dunkey specifically choosing to play Spiderman: The Movie: The Game + Pinstripe Bowling in this video, and topping it off by doing his signature, longtime-missed, official Green Goblin voice acting, had to have been intentional to further the major obliteration that Activision recieves at the very end. So overall, 10/10, it really makes you FEEL like you're watching a KZbin video made with passion.

What I love about games from that period though is the extras you'd get from completing the game. As you can see from the vid, beating the game unlocks goofy mini-games, novelty cheat-codes and the ability to play as the main villain as a totally new character. Nowadays what do you get? A shitty trophy/achievement. And playing as a new character probably wouldnt exist but if it did, it would be $60 DLC. It's one of the reasons I've always resented achievements. People have totally accepted a little pop-up in the corner of the screen as a substitute for fun post-game content.

@TJBrumfield2 жыл бұрын
@@sigmundspankr5505 There are anonymous rumors he might leave, but Phil Spencer's public statement is that he would continue to run Activision after the acquisition is finished and report to him. The Activision stock had been tanking. Microsoft could have made the big contingent on the board forcing Kotick out first, but they didn't. Instead, Kotick's existing Activision stock is going to turn into more valuable Microsoft stock. And his exit clause says he gets a $300 million dollar exit bonus if he is fired without reason. If they forced him out earlier because of the abuse scandals, they could cite that as a reason for termination and that he wasn't fired without cause. By Microsoft welcoming him with open arms, it becomes much more difficult to do that later, and do they want to associate their own employee now with that taint? So they're more likely to ignore it and either pay him the $300 million to go away quietly or keep him as a Microsoft employee. Either way, they are financially rewarding abusers. But the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 are 4 of the top 5 selling non-mobile consoles of all time. Microsoft is tired of losing console wars and wanted Call of Duty to be an XBox exclusive, no matter the cost. But if I were a female Microsoft employee, how would I feel knowing that Microsoft execs are willing to turn a blind eye to years of systemic abuse if it makes them money?

Spider Man 2 from 2004 was one of the greatest open world games ever at the time. I remember swinging around NYC and diving off of the tallest building just to web and pull up at the VERY LAST SECOND! I haven't played it in YEARS, I wonder if it aged well. I remember the first one too, just not as fondly because it wasn't open world. I did enjoy some of those boss fights though, as it really made you FEEL like Spiderman. I also haven't played the new game(s) but it seems like there's a lot of inspiration drawn from the 2004 game in the new games on the PlayStation. I heard those really make you feel like a spider, even more like a Spider than the older game, but the trade off is you feel like less of a man.
