@BagOfMagicFood this came out the year 2007 and the power rangers training dvds came out in 2005 and 2006. I'm thinking they weren't renewed by disney to make a 3rd training dvd. so the 07 release was repurposed for a marvel superhero. Aka spiderman. Which would explain why the whole "you are now spiderman" thing make very little sense since it probably originally said "you are now the red ranger". Which makes more sense since there's more than 1 red ranger compared to only 1 spiderman per universe. That and the pr version was done when spd was the current season.

If I had to guess why they use footage of the 1994 series, it's likely because of 2/3 reasons. One is because Disney was reairing the show through Toon Disney/Disney XD, and that is the most recognizable. The second is like what you said, the toy was made to promote Spider-Man 3 as Venom is the most focused, and the 1994 cartoon is the only one at the time that had Venom at the time (both "Unlimited" and the Neil Patrick Harris cartoon only had 1 season, and while Venom was in the former, he only appeared a few times and most of the cartoon deals with Spidey on the furries). Keep in mind,this is before the other cartoons with Vemon show up. Third is because that cartoon was responsible for making the venom suit as it was depicted, as the comics didn't add details that it can be a toxic host.
@jlev102811 ай бұрын
I don't think the makers of the training video care about Venom's backstorynconsideringbthey treat him like a generic bad guy.
@jeremyriley123811 ай бұрын
True. Plus the 1994 cartoon is a classic. Spider-Man Unlimited had the animal men, and it would not match due to Spidey wearing a different suit (which is due to mandates put on Saban due to the Sony movie) and the MTV Spider-Man cartoon is also known for not being kid-friendly at times.

I'm seriously reminded of the How to Become a Teenage Ninja tape that Redlettermedia covered

I'm actually surprised someone remembered this. I actually watched this a shit ton as a kid, and yes I played along every time too. Obviously it was never good to begin with and I was just a dumb kid that loved Spider-Man, but I still look back on it fondly even tho I know it's bad. I guess you could say it's a nostalgic guilty pleasure

A reason why they were using 94 footage is because they released DVDs around this time of the 94 series and marketed them as "tie-ins" for the movie. I remember being very disappointed as a kid when I grabbed their Green Goblin one and... was treated to just two horribly barely connected episodes of an obviously unrelated cartoon show which may have been better if they werent from the middle of two different arcs with nothing to give me context for the story theyre actually from.

I think web gliding is more spider-woman's thing. Spider-man usually web swings which is what he was doing in the viedo.
