Hello everyone, today I was researching the development of Spider-Man Web Of Shadows and I found some very cool things that didnt make it to the game so I thought I would share everything I found. ENJOY & SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE SPIDER-MAN CONTENT.

For a game that was made in around I think 16 months. They made one of the best Spidey games ever made.

It's pretty impressive. Sure there's some rough edges and some story beats aren't completely fleshed out but given what they were able to do in just 16 months is pretty impressive. Probably helped that they had Spider-Man 3 to help with some of the development.

The beta black suit looks so good holy shit. It has the perfect amount of black with the bluish purple accent

The final version of the black suit has too much purple. I prefer the beta. Good video, nice to see WoS vids still being made

Damn those original models (which were extensions of the SM3 models) look a lot better to me! Everyone talks about the black suit, but I really want to focus in on why I prefer that old red suit. For me, I'm VERY picky with how the red sleeves look along the arm, which in itself depends on the build/muscular of the art and/or model. I much prefer the thicker sleeves on this version of spidey, as the in-game model has his idle arms at an angle that looks like the sleeves are missing sometimes lol. The in-game model also has eyes that are slightly too horizontal for me and would benefit from some thicker black frames like the old model. Additionally, given that so much of the promo material used the Raimi 2004/2007 front emblem for the game, I kind of just want it to be there for the sake of synergy (both the website and dev interviews used it). I understand that the logo was a placeholder as a result of the project being an extension of SM3, but it generally just looks good with the old and SM3 debug models imo

Honestly well said and yeah the Unused red suit model is better it just looks more textured and detailed if that makes sense. Hence why its my profile picture for my channel

Tf Symbiote MoonKnight?! Why didn’t they include that?

Apparently it was due to having more villains than hero’s and so they wanted to balance it out and so moon knight was spared

@@laffin4033 But what about for the good path? They could have involved him maybe in that part? Only being that in the kingpin and beginning of the symbiotic takeover; moonkight works with Spider-Man unlike in the bad path Black Cat works with him.

Cause of time constraints, unfortunately a lot of things were cut to meet a finished game by the release date.

There's no doubt that most of these unused designs are better than what we got. But it's understandable why we got them. Shaba only had 18 months and a pretty tight budget to develop this game. 18 months was a big enough time maybe for PS2 Games, but the leap in the next generation was considerable. The Black Suit is better in every aspect than final version. But I think they changed it for two reasons. To simplify design for smoother gameplay, making it brighter coloured to separate from the Symbiote infested city. I still love the detail that Venom has more contrast with Black and Blue, while Black Suit Spider-Man is more evenly coloured. Blue being Venom's colour and Purple being Spidey's symbiotic colour was also good choice. In the comics as well as previous cartoons, Symbiote was always portrayed with a Blue/Teal highlight. Purple colour and highlight is a very Ultimate Spider-man thing.

I mean most of the unused stuff were just old designs such as the beta version of the black suit so it would of played the same but just looked better IMO

This scenario is stupid impossible by comic lore But god is it fun!

Comics are made up, just make some more random bs to make it work, like maybe the venom Symbiote was taken over by knull and was caused to mutate and invade the world for his arrival. It would explain why Eddies is out of character aswell.

@@spider-jonah-man7148 That’s the only justification but it doesn’t change that fact that your solution is head canon With comic book rules this entire Symbiote invasion is impossible But again it’s fun. It was my most played spider man game at the time. Even more then the movie tie in games or shattered dimensions (I always wanted edge of time but never had it T-T)

@@randomgamer625 true, but what I’m saying is with the lore we have now it can be justified. We’ve seen a full scale Symbiote invasion in the main comics. Just because they didn’t throughly explain it doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Anything can happen in comics it’s all made up anyways, all it takes is a retcon or explanation. Edge of time is overrated, it’s not worth the eBay prices. Only get it if you can get it cheap
