Well if you soak your hand in water you can quickly dunk it in boiling lead without any harm coming to you, because the liquid around your hand instantly evaporates creating an air shield around your hand preventing the boiling lead from even touching you. I remember Mythbusters even tested this and it worked fine, season 7 episode 23. So she did the same thing by covering herself in weak poison liquid, which evaporated shielding her.

It felt as if the dragon was trying to level up in order to heal it's injury and it was performing way better than the other monsters we've seen so far.
