I can see why "the building collapsed" make you confused. Actually, in the Chinese version, the building that collapsed is not a normal building, it's 大厦， meaning "a big building", kind of like "the empire building" building. So you can see this kind of large building can be a wonderful metaphor for both the economic system of the country and the old lifestyle of the workers in state-owned enterprises.

They are so great! Always my favorite band!Their leader singer and guitarist Dong ya qian（董亚千）is one of best guitarist in China.

You should definitely check out both of their albums! They are arguably the best rock band in China now and are known for writing poetic lyrics while arranging & producing some of the finest Chinese rock music. Interestingly, the bassist/lyricist Ji Geng actually got a PhD in English literature and translated all of his lyrics into English, one of which you have reviewed in this video. I came back from their live concert last Monday and they were amazing! They are definitely a must to listen to.

秦皇岛 or Qinhuangdao in English is a coast city of China, famous for its tourism and lots of people would enjoy their summer vacation in this city (The starting point of the Great Wall locates in this city, and it was built on the surface of the sea). It was told that the singer of this band suffered from depressive disorder and he moved to 秦皇岛 for a relatively long period to cure himself. So think about the lyrics 'The oh so lonesome sea monster dwelling in my heart, the king of sorrow, begins to tire of the gloom and still current of the deep waters '

Definitely check out Inside The Cable Temple at some point, that album is just incredible. There is a dearth of reaction videos to this band on youtube so I'm glad to see someone doing it! This is one of their mid tier songs for me, they get ridiculously good

what's so unique about this Chinese band is that they expressed their ideas about social problems into the melody, it feels that they have been influenced alot by King Crimson
